This role is based in San Francisco, CA, and we follow a hybrid schedule of three days in the office per week.

In this role, you will:

  • Act as a strategic talent partner to executives and hiring leaders; build a deep understanding of business priorities and long-term organizational design needs; and evolve technical roadmaps to anticipate and shape hiring plans.

  • Identify, engage, and cultivate exceptional talent across industry leaders and emerging research communities.

  • Use data and insights to influence hiring and compensation strategy, benchmarking, talent pipeline decisions, and process improvements; share market intel to help leaders make informed decisions on timing, leveling, compensation, and search design.

  • Partner closely with hiring teams on interview strategy, candidate evaluation, closing narratives, and long-term talent mapping, serve as a trusted advisor on the talent quality bar and signals.

  • Collaborate deeply with your sourcing partner to accelerate search execution and build talent.

You might thrive in this role if you:

  • Are extremely passionate about embedding yourself in the AI research community and finding, selecting, and securing the best talent in the world for OpenAI.

  • Have 8+ years of recruiting experience across highly technical and specialized domains.

  • Navigate and close complex offer negotiations with confidence, prioritizing long-term relationship building and balancing candidate motivations, market dynamics, and compensation frameworks.

  • Are deeply interested in artificial intelligence and its potential for positive impact on humanity.

  • Lead creative and strategic search approaches for highly specialized technical roles.

  • Take initiatives from ideation to execution while collaborating with a diverse set of stakeholders.
