Job Description

Purpose:

The Quality Engineer is the driving force of our process at the Clow MCF by analyzing and monitoring quality trends leading to manufacturing excellence.

Key Performance Indicators:

Sustainability: Identify and Analyze Top 3 scrap issues for Brass and Iron foundries.

a. Implement improvements based on root cause analysis.

b.Establish Control plan reporting to understand core process deviation benchmarks.

Customer Experience: Establish customer experience rating for Brass & Iron Foundries.

Core Functions of Position:

Developing Quality Systems (40%): Meticulously analyze the MCF production processes, Quality Control needs, and Raw Material specifications to create a Quality Control plan that will elevate the overall customer experience of the organization. Monitor, maintain, and train the organization on the Quality management system, including the creation of SOP's, Method cards, and documentation needed to maintain specification compliance. Develop a thorough process control program for all incoming materials to ensure accuracy of inventory and quality.

Process Control & Production Support (40%): Diligently work with the MCF to ensure all new processes are compliant with industry standards, actively assist with new product testing by providing complete sample requisitions, and ensure all new processes are documented and compliant when implemented. Diligently guide the internal auditing process, update documentation, and provide needed feedback to the production/management team on quality defects and solutions to correct the defects. Be the authoritative liaison for the production team by leading a high integrity quality system that guarantees customer satisfaction. Cohesively partner with the production team to gain full understanding of quality defects and limitations associated with those defects, provide sound solutions to reduce limitations and assist with cost efficacy.

Quality Performance (10%): Be the driving force of quality at the MCF to ensure production is delivering a product that meets customer satisfaction by providing thorough training, guidance, and metrics development. Mentor team members on best business practices and consistently work to develop team members industry knowledge to ensure quality compliance. Assiduously investigate quality non-conformances, perform root cause analysis, and provide feedback for corrective actions. Cultivate and foster associations in the organization that provide trusting collaborations among departments that promote Clow Valve as a premier place to work and do business.

Continuous Improvement (10%): Assist in developing a mentality within the MCF that allows for "think-tank" conversations within the production and management team to proactively address future production deviations, driving continuous improvement strategy, and methods to achieve manufacturing excellence.

Qualifications

Technical Skills:

-Proficient in Root Cause Analysis

-Microsoft Office Suite

-Strong written and verbal communication skills.

-Ability to analyze data and identify improvement opportunities.

-Manufacturing and Casting Knowledge a Plus.

Education & Experience:

Required:

-Bachelor's degree in engineering (industrial engineering/technology preferred) with minimum of 1 year manufacturing experience or associate's degree in related field (industrial technology/engineering) with minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience.

Preferred:

-Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering with 5+ years of manufacturing experience.
