Job Description

The City of Renton is currently recruiting for an Enterprise Content Specialist at the 1 or 2 level. Join a team dedicated to helping others throughout the city meet service demands and provide high-quality customer service through the technologies of our Enterprise Content Management (ECM) platform. Working on our ECM platform presents great opportunities for creativity, innovation, and positive impact. As an Enterprise Content Specialist 1 you will play a critical role as the first line of support for our internal staff triaging incoming support tickets. Manage user accounts and licenses. Assist with the support of the document repository, public digital records library, electronic forms and business processes, and workflows as you ramp up on the ECM technologies. In addition to first line support, as an Enterprise Content Specialist 2 you will diagnose and address more complex support issues and service requests and more independently develop electronic forms and business processes, workflows, automated metadata extraction, and manage projects.

Enterprise Content Specialist 1: $77,892 - $94,812

Enterprise Content Specialist 2: $85,872 - $104,628

Telework Program: The City of Renton supports workers performing in a hybrid capacity (partial telework/in-office) where job responsibilities can be performed remotely. This position may be eligible for a telework arrangement, working certain days/times remotely, based on the operational needs of the City and specific Department. Regardless of job title or telework arrangement, City of Renton employees must reside in Washington State and within a reasonable distance to their worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS for Enterprise Content Specialist 1 and 2:

  • Provide technical support to Enterprise Content Management (ECM) and business process automation software platform end users.
  • Assist with evaluating the Enterprise Content Management functions to improve customer service, productivity and efficiency and assist with resolution of work-related complaints and issues that cannot be addressed by staff.
  • Develop, test, and maintain, and troubleshoot ECM business processes.
  • Assist with records management automation.
  • Identify, recommend, develop, and implement end user training on ECM technologies to increase literacy and self-sufficiency.
  • Evaluate support tickets for ongoing performance improvement opportunities and reduction of ECM and business process automation related incidents.
  • Provide assistance with administrative functions for all aspects of the city's Enterprise Content Management system, including user accounts, licenses, automations (forms and workflow) administration, repository access, metadata management, records management, and auditing.
  • Attend instructional webinars and events as it relates to the field.
  • Contribute to an environment of teamwork and respect.
  • Foster a culture of equity and inclusion by recognizing the diverse needs and perspectives of groups and individuals.
  • Remain current with relevant technological advancements as it relates to field.
  • Participate in and help provide cross-training in processes as directed by management to ensure a well-rounded team for coverage purposes.
  • Maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • May be assigned to support City priorities during emergencies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF ENTERPRISE CONTENT SPECIALIST 1:

  • Respond to incoming tier 1 and occasionally tier 2 requests to the ECM team in a variety of formats, such as phone, email, or web, and ensure courteous, timely, and effective resolution of end user issues.
  • Provide assistance with the development, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of ECM workflow automation.
  • Support the maintenance of ECM documentation.
  • Assist with projects as assigned by the Enterprise Content Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF ENTERPRISE CONTENT SPECIALIST 2:

  • Respond to incoming tier 1, tier 2, and occasionally tier 3 requests to the ECM team in a variety of formats, such as phone, email, or web, and ensure courteous, timely, and effective resolution of end user issues.
  • Develop, test, maintain, and troubleshoot ECM workflow automation.
  • Develop and maintain ECM documentation.
  • Assist with, or manage, projects as assigned by the Enterprise Content Manager.
  • Serve as a liaison between end users and our ECM vendor.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS for ENTERPRISE CONTENT SPECIALIST 1:

  • Associate's degree in computer technology or related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience researching and/or solving technical IT problems in a service desk environment.
  • Or minimum 3 years of relevant education and experience.
  • Valid Drivers' License.
  • Successful passing of a required background check, driving record check, and national fingerprint-based records check.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSE REQUIREMENTS for ENTERPRISE CONTENT SPECIALIST 2:

  • Associate's degree in computer technology or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience researching and/or resolving technical IT problems in a service desk environment.
  • Or minimum 5 years of relevant education and experience.
  • Within 6 months of hire, obtain Gold Certification in the city's Enterprise Management Content software technology.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Successful passing of a required background check, national fingerprint-based records check and driver's license check.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Drive to offsite locations to perform essential functions.
  • Move throughout City facilities and buildings.
  • Operate a computer and other office equipment.
  • Communicate with City employees and residents.
  • Lift or move items weighing up to 20 pounds occasionally.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work is performed in an office environment.
  • Noise level in the office is moderately quiet.

Recruitment Process:
The screening process will include a review of minimum qualifications and applicants selected for an interview will be invited via email to self-schedule a time through the Government Jobs account. At minimum, this position will be subject to a standard criminal background check and professional reference check. This position requires driving and is also subject to a driving record check from the WA State Dept of Licensing (or other state equivalent). Driving records will be evaluated based on a points system depending on the infraction and severity.
