Do you have a passion for working with children, leading creative activities, and inspiring a team? Join the Loudoun County Parks & Recreation team. We're seeking qualified applicants for regular part-time After School Supervisor positions with our After School Activities (CASA) program at the Philomont Community Center. CASA is a highly respected after-school programs serving Loudoun County's elementary school-aged youth for over 30 years. Our team embraces the uniqueness of each child, inclusive of all individual abilities or needs. In this dynamic role, you'll take the lead in planning and delivering enriching after-school programs for elementary-aged children, including fun indoor and outdoor games, arts and crafts, themed projects, snack time, and academic support. You'll guide and supervise a team of Leaders and Aides to ensure a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment where every child feels encouraged and supported.
We are currently hiring for the following location(s): * Philomont Community Center, Philomont, VA
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Oversee recreational program for children by ordering supplies, implementing goals, ensuring licensing standards, training and supervising staff performance, and conflict resolutions. * Develop plans and facilitate activities, group games, and reading time following the curriculum and the needs of the children. * Provide a welcoming and safe environment for children and perform daily health checks, handle food service items, and follow emergency procedures. * May carry out additional critical job responsibilities pertinent to the specific role and departmental assignment.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a child-related field such as Elementary Education, Nursing, or Recreation; one (1) year of program experience supervising children or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

Must undergo pre-employment, criminal, and fingerprinting, and Child Protective Services (CPS) background checks. Must complete Sworn Disclosure statement by disclosing any criminal convictions or pending criminal charges before hire, and every 5 years thereafter. First Aid /CPR (Infant through Adult) certifications prior to hire or within 30 days of hire. Provide a negative TB test or screening completed within 30 days of hire and every 2 years thereafter. Must be willing to attend 24 hours of paid annual programmatic training during the school year to enhance skills and knowledge of school-aged childcare and programming.
