POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Biomolecules Nanodelivery Scientist to conduct pioneering research in gene and protein delivery within plant systems. This role encompasses nanoparticle formulation, gene encapsulation, and studies on cellular uptake and translocation within various plant systems.
POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Leverage in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in nanotechnology to drive research initiatives.
* Synthesize, engineer, and formulate nanomaterials for various applications.
* Deploy multiple nanoparticle engineering and formulations approaches to enable cellular uptake of nanoparticles.
* Design and perform laboratory studies based on clear hypotheses.
* Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of scientists to manage data and develop, implement, and document workflows.
* Independently prioritize, evaluate, implement, and troubleshoot approaches and tasks to achieve desired outcomes.
* Communicate results, updates, questions, and troubleshooting steps effectively through written and oral methods to the team.
* Document results and processes clearly for future reference.
* This is a primarily on-site position with opportunities for flexible work arrangements.
REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES
Education Requirement(s):
* PhD or MS in Biophysical Chemistry, Chemical engineering, Drug Delivery, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related discipline
Skill & Competency Requirements: (list 3 to 5 non-negotiable items such as years of experience, industry of preference, specific knowledge items, professional certifications, skills, abilities, etc.)
* 2-4 years' hands-on experience in biomolecule delivery with demonstrated publication records
* Innovative mindset with hands-on experience in research involving cellular uptake and delivery of biomolecules.
* Self-motivated with strong organizational, written and verbal communication, and problem-solving skills.
* Proven ability to document research project results through oral presentations and/or peer-reviewed scientific publications.
* Quick learner with the ability to rapidly apply new concepts and techniques.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and effectively communicate with cross-functional teams.
Preferences: (list nice-to-haves such as specific knowledge items, certifications, skills, abilities, etc.)
* Experience with nanotechnology in plant systems
* Knowledge in plant biology, metabolism and physiology
* Experience with microbial based protein expression and purification.
Travel Requirements: Candidates expected to be within the St Louis area
