About the Role:

As an enterprise project management office (ePMO) project manager in the Policy and Program Strategic Solutions practice, you will assist in managing the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH), Division of Data Services and Analytics' (DDSA) project portfolio and providing project management and training support to DDSA staff. NYSTEC is considered a trusted advisor, providing subject matter expertise and connecting the dots for our clients. NYSTEC has consulted on some of the largest Medicaid initiatives and has served in various roles across a multitude of New York State healthcare technology systems.

Serving as a ePMO project manager, your day-to-day role as a NYSTEC consultant will include using project management best practices, facilitating training in a variety of formats and thrive in a dynamic, less-structured environment. We are seeking a self-motivated, organized individual who can work independently and collaboratively across multiple stakeholder groups.

You should anticipate working from the client site in Albany at least once per week.


Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-divisional units to implement ePMO project management standards.
  • Support the ePMO unit lead in executive meetings, adhering to processes, and documentation.
  • Provide project management support for division-wide initiatives.
  • Assist project teams with adhering to ePMO standards, including:
  • Developing and maintaining project schedules.
  • Facilitating stakeholder meetings and requirements elicitation.
  • Tracking project changes, tasks, risks, and issues.
  • Escalating risks and issues, as needed, to the ePMO.
  • Assign staff to projects with existing ePMO resources.
  • Design and deliver training sessions tailored to individual learning styles.
  • Create and maintain training documentation and materials based on division needs.


About you:
Required Qualifications

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective time management, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio, Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with collaboration tools, such as Microsoft SharePoint and Teams.
  • Ability to assess training needs and to develop appropriate learning materials.


Preferred/Desired Qualifications

  • Project management professional certification.
  • Experience working within a formal PMO structure.


Education and Experience

  • A bachelor's degree and five to seven years of related experience in project management.
  • An equivalent combination of advanced education, training, and experience will be considered.



The target salary range for this position is $84,497 - $109,846 per year. When determining compensation, we carefully consider several factors including education, professional experience, and job-related qualifications.
