Newport Aquarium Scuba Santa's Elf

This is a seasonal position for our Scuba Santa Water Wonderland promotion: November 6, 2025 to December 24, 2025.

This position requires the submission of an actor resume and video audition as an Elf, prefer link to active portfolio.

Please submit a video depicting the role of Scuba Santa's elf, introducing us to your elf character. You should include your job as an elf which may include a demonstration, why you are excited to be joining Scuba Santa this holiday season, and a message that Scuba Santa has asked you to deliver to his visitors at Newport Aquarium. Videos should be between 1 and 3 minutes long.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Must be able to memorize and keep a tight schedule in a clear and pleasant manner while interacting with guests and other Newport Aquarium hosts and departments
• Must be able to respond to and take direction from the Guest Services Leadership and Marketing Team
• Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of guests
• Must have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• Learn and adhere to Herschend Enterprises' Core Values and Newport Aquarium Guest Service Accountabilities, Policies and Procedures, and Safety Protocols

QULIFICATIONS

• Must have strong public speaking skills with theatre or improvisation experience or comfortability
• Must have the ability to think on their feet while keeping with show integrity and dealing with live audiences
• Willingness to take direction and coaching from Scuba Santa's Elf Coordinator or Guest Services management to improve your skills
• Must read, write, and speak the English language (knowledge of other languages is a plus)
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a constantly changing environment as well as individually, with minimum supervision
• Ability to work as an Elf on a temporary basis during the promotional period: November 6, 2025 to December 24, 2025.
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced job and remain courteous, friendly, and helpful to guests and hosts always
• Must be willing to work weekends, nights, and Christmas Eve

Physical and Medical Requirements

• Successful completion of pre-employment background check
• Ability to remain on feet for long periods of time, also climbing stairs, bending, and stooping
• Employee is required to talk, hear, and operate small electronic devices and microphones
