Job Description

Position Summary:

Responsible for various short/long term aerospace projects involving materials selection, testing, R&D, design, and manufacturing of forgings.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Participates as a multidisciplinary engineering team member
  • Assists in the design of experiments and writing test plans
  • Assists with data analysis and microstructure-mechanical property correlations in forged products
  • Provides technical support to assigned team/department
  • Interacts with outside testing labs to write testing purchase orders according to test plans, gathers and organizes cutups and production forging-prolong samples for testing
  • Organizes and maintains test remnants as required in controlled area
  • Files and matches paperwork on test plans to purchase orders, certifications and invoices
  • Studies blueprints to properly orient test coupons
  • Coordinates with other testing houses for routine microscopic examinations of metals and alloys to determine their crystal structure, phase morphology, homogeneity, and other characteristics
  • Prepares and photographs metal specimens/forgings utilizing electronic camera equipment, in conjunction with a microscope
  • Performs lab heat treatment on test samples/forgings for capability testing to determine strength, hardness, elasticity, toughness, and microscopic examination

Required Skills:

  • Must have excellent mathematical, analytical, problem solving and organizing skills
  • Possess a strong technical aptitude along with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient in PC programs, including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to interact with all levels of personnel in cross-functional teams

Preferred Experience:

  • 1-2+ years of Leadership or Project Management experience preferred
  • 1-2+ years of Customer Service experience preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment a plus

Level of Education:

  • Currently pursuing a BS Degree in Engineering. Junior and Senior Year candidates preferred. Must have completed at least their freshman year.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $21.00 to $21.00 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. Employees will receive 0 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.
