Job Description

Position Summary:

Without supervision, repairs and maintains diesel and gasoline industrial trucks by performing the following duties.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assign work and reports to Management in the absence of the Supervisor.
  • Reads job order and observes and listens to truck in operation to determine malfunction and to plan work procedures.
  • Installs new ignition systems, changes, or recharges batteries, and replaces transmissions, water pumps, hydraulic hoses, and other parts.
  • Repairs shift linkages, head gaskets, brakes, universal joint bearings, radiators, and changes seals on lift cylinders.
  • Examines protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks, and makes adjustments.
  • Lubricates moving parts and drives repaired truck to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Fabricates special lifting or towing attachments, hydraulic systems, shields, or other devices according to blueprints or schematic drawings.
  • Reads manufacturer's manuals and spare part books, orders replacement parts.
  • Carries out complete overhaul to mobile equipment, installs new electric wiring, hydraulic hoses, valves, pumps, and cylinders.
  • Delegate personnel during equipment breakdowns.
  • Assign tasks to appropriate personnel.
  • Provide training to team members as needed.
  • Report all shift activities at the end of the shift or as required.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols.
  • Monitor workflow to maintain efficiency and quality.
  • Communicate with production regarding breakdowns, tool changes, and operational needs.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to use basic maintenance tools, including manual and air impact wrenches, drills, air grinders, electronic timing lights, hammers, saws, ect.

Level of Education/Experience:

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $30.00 to $45.00 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter . Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.
