Orthotic and Prosthetic Technician Ortho-Orthotics & Prosthetic Full Time 86047BR Job Summary The Orthotic and Prosthetic Unit of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery provides orthotic and prosthetic services in both the inpatient and outpatient environment. The department has three office locations providing off-the-shelf and custom orthopaedic devices. Working under general supervision of the Department Director and specific supervision of the unit Clinical Manager, the technician is responsible for assisting with the creation of custom prosthetic and orthotic devices by fabricating constituent parts and assembling those parts into completed devices. The technician is also responsible for stocking and ordering fabrication inventory and maintaining lab cleanliness. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role. For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range. The department has over 250 academic and staff personnel at multiple sites (UC, Mt. Zion, MB, SFGH, and VAMC). The Orthotic and Prosthetic Department provides joint patents care with numerous services across the UCSF health care system. Required Qualifications
