We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Senior Loan Documentation Specialist to join our team. In this critical role, you will ensure that loans are processed accurately, provide support to lenders and portfolio managers, and mentor other documentation specialists-all while helping to keep our operations running smoothly. The position is on-site at our Bloomington office. Work from home opportunities may be available Tuesday-Thursday after the initial training period

Essential Responsibilities

* Arrange loans, inputs into Jack Henry and ensure loans follow the note(s)/participation agreement(s) and are accurately entered.

* Manage the daily workflow priorities for Loan Documentation through strong interaction with lenders and portfolio managers. This includes new loans, renewals, extensions and modifications.

* Serve as a mentor, educator, and trainer to other Loan Documentation Specialists.

* Enter/track customer, collateral and loan information into Sageworks tickler/tracking system.

* Review weekly exception report from Sageworks system for expiring documents and upcoming changes/ticklers.

* Work with Loan department personnel to run, print and scan Monthly/Quarterly reports from loan system.

* Prepare documentation package for new loans. Create notes, security agreements, limited/unlimited guarantees and participation agreements/extensions/ renewals. Prepare correspondence to accompany mailed or emailed loan documents.

* Track original loan documents to make sure all original copies mailed/emailed for signature are returned in a timely manner.

* Monitor and update weekly Rate info within system for Rates and Master Rate tracked by UBB.

* Monitor UBB Rate and Prime rates and make rate changes within the system. Send notifications to relevant participating banks regarding rate changes. Communicate rate changes to relevant departments within UBB.

* Maintain collateral safekeeping records. Issue collateral receipts for new stock certificates and return collateral receipts/certificates for stocks being released.

* Maintain original notes and safekeeping drawers. Coordinate yearly audits with other Documentation personnel prior to year-end.

* Work with Documentation personnel to prepare and send monthly FHLB pledged loan report to FHLB and to departments within UBB.

* Serve as a backup to Documentation specialist to monitor paid loans, determine if collateral needs to be released, process paid loans for storage and clear collateral/ticklers from tracking system.

* Serve as a backup to Documentation specialist to maintain/update Real Estate property tax spreadsheet and tracking.

* Monitor and help prepare monthly FHLB pledged loan report to Federal Home Loan Bank and internal departments within UBB.

* Sort and distribute daily incoming mail for the Loan department.

Provides back up for other Loan Operations staff.

  • * Associate's degree in Business or equivalent experience in Banking/Finance
  • * Bachelor's degree preferred
  • * At least 5 years of experience working with loan documentation for Commercial, Real Estate, Agriculture and/or Consumer loans; loan participation experience is a plus
  • * Experience with Loan systems and tracking software
  • * Strong knowledge of Microsoft office products with emphasis on Word and Excel
  • * Strong customer service skills, problem solving, mathematical skills and interpersonal abilities
  • * Ability to organize and to prioritize multiple tasks to meet loan demands/timelines

Pay Range

* $27.30 - $32.26 hourly; depending on education, qualifications, experience

* Annual bonus target: 6% of annual pay dependent on company and personal performance
