Overall Summary

As Sr. Product Manager, Knees, your primary role will be managing and executing a pipeline of differentiated knee implant solutions derived from deep customer insights through the development and execution of a comprehensive strategy to grow the MicroPort Orthopedics (MPO) Knee platform in the market space. You will work in collaboration with the Director, Knee Marketing as well as the Senior Leadership Team, global commercial teams, clinical, regulatory, research and development teams to ensure long term growth goals for the MPO Knee platform are met.

You will oversee the development of the go-to-market strategies and initiatives to support MicroPort Orthopedics growth strategies across the US and OUS regions for the MPO Knee platform including Implants, Instrumentation and Digital & Technology Capabilities. You must work closely with Sales and Functional Leadership to understand market trends, customer perspectives, competitor activities and industry dynamics to develop strategic segment plans and tactics necessary to drive the MPO Knee business forward.

You must be able to identify unmet customer needs and new business opportunities and provide vision and focus to move products from an idea to commercialization. A high degree of initiative, leadership skills, urgency, analytical and big picture problem solving skills with a strong desire to create step changes in innovation, decision making ability, and aptitude for personnel management are required.

Your duties will include:



  1. Lead the seamless transition of strategic plans from upstream commercial assessment and prototype through downstream commercial execution and new product introduction of to ensure product launch excellence for the MPO Knee platform.
  2. Prepare and execute detailed product commercialization plans including positioning, targeting, selling tactics and collaterals, clinical evidence, economic value proposition, forecasting, pricing, sales training, and medical education for the MPO Knee platform.
  3. Achieve annual WW business plan objectives of sales, net income, gross profit, inventory, and price.
  4. Work comprehensively with Medical Education to ensure that products are properly supported with educational events and programs
  5. Attends meetings and conferences both in medical device and in market adjacencies to uncover innovative and differentiated technologies that could help enrich the MPO Knee portfolio.
  6. Provides leadership to the marketing team resulting in achievement of organizational objectives and strengthening of team talent and morale
  7. Collaborates and assures alignment with cross-functional teams including R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, Quality, Operations, Sales Leadership and Medical/Sales Education etc. to deliver Target Product Profiles and accompanying Business Cases to support with project prioritization and evaluation.
  8. Develop and manage the marketing budget, conduct value analyses, make tradeoff & prioritization decisions in support of financial goals, and conduct leadership reviews that report on progress to plan and impact on the business.
  9. Provide product expertise to the regional sales and marketing organizations related to the MPO Knee platform.

YOUR EDUCATION

Required: Bachelor's Degree: Business, Engineering, Marketing or a related degree

Preferred: Master's Degree in Marketing or a related field or MBA

YOUR EXPERIENCE

Minimum 6 years of Marketing or Engineering career experience



  • Experience in Robotics, Surgical Navigation, Augmented Reality or Medical Technology is preferred.
  • Experience in Kinematic Alignment, Gap Balancing Surgical Approach is preferred
  • Experience leading core surgeon teams and proven ability to define customer needs is preferred
  • Experience quantifying strategic decisions and building business cases is preferred
  • Previous experience in the Medical Device, specifically Knee Arthroplasty and/or life sciences industry is highly preferred
  • Experience in Digital Devices, Software, Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics is a plus.
