Taft is currently seeking a Director of Workplace Delivery & Services Strategy to join our team.

Taft's Client & Innovation Office is seeking a Director of Workplace Delivery & Services Strategy responsible for end-to-end delivery of the Firm's workplace strategy, operations and employee experience across the office portfolio. The Director partners with senior leadership (COO, Managing Partner, HR, IT and Facilities) to optimize space, deliver flawless service execution, manage vendor and budget performance, and ensure a secure, compliant workplace that supports attorney and staff productivity.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategy & Governance



  • Develop and operationalize the Firm's workplace strategy (footprint optimization, workplace standards).
  • Establish governance, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to align workplace delivery with business objectives.


Operations & Service Delivery



  • Own day-to-day workplace operations: space planning, moves/relocations, construction, furniture/fixed asset lifecycle, and security.
  • Ensure high service quality, timely resolution of incidents and continuous process improvement.


Employee Experience & Change



  • Shape workplace experience initiatives (amenities, collaboration zones, ergonomics) and lead change management to drive adoption across the firm.
  • Partner with HR and IT to integrate technology and employee-facing services.


Financial & Vendor Management



  • Manage operating, capital and leasing budgets; deliver cost control and value through contract negotiation and procurement best practices.
  • Lead vendor selection, KPI management and performance remediation.


Data & Performance



  • Define and report KPIs (utilization, cost/SF, move accuracy, SOP compliance, workplace experience).
  • Use analytics to inform portfolio decisions and validate outcomes.


Risk, Compliance & Security



  • Ensure compliance with accessibility, life-safety and workplace regulations; coordinate with Security and IT on confidentiality and incident response.


Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement



  • Build and lead a high-performing workplace team; set objectives, coach talent and drive accountability.
  • Serve as principal workplace liaison to partners, practice leaders and enterprise functions.


Knowledge, Abilities, Skills, Interpersonal and Other Requirements:



  • Strategic thinker with strong operational rigor and program management discipline.
  • Proven P&L/budget ownership and vendor-contract negotiation experience.
  • Proficiency with space-management/CAMF/IWMS systems and workplace technologies (Procore, Bluebeam, Adobe, Smart Sheet, Microsoft Project, CAD).
  • Advanced Excel/financial modeling and executive reporting capability.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement, executive presence and change-management skills.
  • High integrity and discretion in handling confidential matters; client-first mindset; decisive, data-driven, and results oriented.


Education and Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MBA, M.S.) preferred.
  • 10+ years in workplace/facilities/real estate operations with a minimum 5 years in a senior leadership role; prior experience supporting professional services or law-firm environments strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated delivery of workplace transformation (hybrid models, relocations, portfolio optimization).
  • CFM, PMP, IFMA credentials or equivalent workplace/facilities certification preferred.
