Description

Lutheran Social Services of WI and Upper MI, a private nonprofit human service organization, is currently seeking a Recruiter a join our Human Capital team. Our team believes that we have a critical role in helping the agency achieve excellence by partnering with the organization leaders in attracting, hiring and promoting the right candidate for the right job at the right time, by recognizing and encouraging diversity in the workplace, and by promoting LSS as an employer of choice.

The right candidate will support the LSS mission to act compassionately, serve humbly and lead courageously; be a dynamic and energetic advocate for the agency, have excellent customer service, and be comfortable with high volume, full-cycle recruiting. Please note, LSS colleagues must reside in Wisconsin for this opportunity.

Under the direction of the Talent Acquisition Manager, the Recruiter will be responsible for sourcing candidates for positions and completing full lifecycle recruitment, as well as the development and on-going management of recruiting programs, systems, policies, procedures, and practices that results in an adequate flow of diverse, qualified candidates that support the mission of the organization. The Recruiter is responsible for all aspects of efficiently and effectively filling open positions, in partnership with the hiring leader, including candidate sourcing, pre-screening, interviewing, offer and background check process, and new hire onboarding activities. In conjunction with other human capital and organization staff, the Recruiter will engage in workforce planning strategies to anticipate and develop a qualified and diverse candidate pool.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.



  • Discusses workforce needs with management personnel to prepare and implement recruitment program.
  • Utilizes, recommends and maintains Applicant Tracking System and other technology in performance of job. May serve as a liaison with recruitment providers.
  • Develops multiple recruitment strategies, including social media, to attract diverse, qualified applicants.
  • Screens applicants and refers to leaders for follow-up interviews. Works in partnership with hiring leaders in the full lifecycle recruitment process.
  • Places advertisements in various media (newspaper, job boards, colleges/universities, etc.) to attract qualified candidates.
  • Develops and maintains network of contacts to help identify and source diverse, qualified candidates.
  • Initiates contact with possibly qualified candidates for specific job openings.
  • Reviews applications and interviews applicants to obtain work history, education, training, job skills, and salary requirements, as well as to provide information about the organization and position.
  • Collaborates with other Human Capital employees such as HC Generalists to determine best practice or strategy in problem solving issues.
  • Coordinates and composes confirmation and rejection letters.
  • Represents the agency at various recruiting or career events and to those seeking employment and volunteer opportunities.
  • Works with external recruiters and employment agencies to identify and recruit candidates.
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Recommend, develop and prepare various recruitment reports to validate effectiveness of recruitment function.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of one year recruitment related experience is preferred, as is experience in high volume recruitment. PHR/SPHR certification is preferred. In addition, candidate should have:



  • Knowledge of employment law and pertinent government regulations and requirements.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and a rapidly changing business climate
  • Strong customer service orientation


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must have a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation to perform the essential duties of the role; a motor vehicle check (MVR) with a satisfactory driving record per the LSS Driver Safety Procedure is required, and ability to meet LSS auto insurance requirements.

TRAVEL: Ability to travel on day trips as required. Some overnight travel required, mostly during spring and fall college career fair season.
