Job Description

Summary:

Prepares blow molding machines for production by troubleshooting, repairing, cleaning and maintaining molds and machines, by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties & Responsabilities:

  • Starts-up qualifies molds according to set-up sheet.
  • Completes daily log of activities on an accurate and timely basis.
  • Analyzes process-related problems by troubleshooting molds and machines.
  • Makes process and parameter changes to ensure the highest quality possible.
  • Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
  • Dismantles molds to gain access to and remove defective parts.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Starts devices to test their performance.
  • Records and maintains information regarding equipment downtime.
  • Maintains housekeeping in all areas where duties are assigned each day.
  • Wears all required personal protective equipment.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises employees in the Blow Molding Department, carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the companies policies.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent. One year certificate from college or technical school; or six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variable in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Certification and training in safe forklift operation is required. Certification and training in injection molding procedures is preferred.

Safety:

Must attend all required Safety/OSHA training classes. Must adhere to all safety rules as posted in employee handbook and in the plant. All employees must adhere to Amcor "No Injuries Program".

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

The employee has the authority to run their machines, however they must notify their supervisors immediately if they have any quality or maintenance issues.

Quality:

Must be GMP/HACCP/Food Security Trained.
