General Notes

Additional hours will be required to include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Some travel is required. This position is not suitable for remote work and regular, on-site hours are required.

Purpose

To support the daily operations of sports programs and the Sports Administration department at the University of Texas.

Responsibilities

  • Roster Management: Facilitate the timely and effective management of sport program rosters at the direction of the Executive Senior Associate Athletics Director. Serve as the responsible person for the management, updating and record keeping of the Student-Athlete Information System (SAIS) in direct collaboration with Athletics Business Office (ABO), Athletics Risk Management and Compliance Services (ARMCS) and Enrollment Management. Ensure the Athletics Department maintains one sole source of data for roster management, and complete the business processes necessary to onboard and offboard student-athletes. This includes the management of Teamworks HUB in collaboration with the Assistant AD, Sports Administration. Serve as the primary person responsible for granting and removal of proxy access permissions for Athletic facilities for student-athletes.

  • Meetings: Responsible for the planning and scheduling of monthly Sport Program Administrative Meetings and Director of Operations meetings. Create actionable agendas, maintain meeting minutes, and provide actionable items. Coordinate documentation, task management, and foster a culture of accountability among peer sport and Administrative staff. Responsible for the organization and planning of Championship Week activities.

  • Administrative Support: Supervise Sports Administration Intern(s) and/or Student Workers. Complete other duties as assigned including, but not limited to, mailing needs/coordination, office supply/facility needs, etc. Drive a UT vehicle or rental on and off campus.

  • Student-Athlete Benefits: Support Sport Administration in the areas of financial aid, publicity rights, housing, per diem, and Student-Athlete Opportunity Fund and Special Assistant Fund.

  • Sports Administration Liaison: Represent the Sports Administration team in the following functions and related responsibilities: Gameday recruiting at Football and Men's Basketball; Assist Ticket Operations and ARMCS with recruit ticket management for home events; Coordinate ticket requests for Student-Athletes at hosted post-season competitions and marquee home events;Special events & facility coordination;Manage golf carts/vehicles for sport programs; and Facility branding, design and project management.

  • Equipment Audits: Assist with annual equipment audits including, but not limited to, student-athlete equipment distribution; sport program equipment; in collaboration with equipment staff.

  • Consistently exemplify the core values and quality service standards of Texas Athletics. Always act ethically. Proactively seek guidance when unsure or unclear of a law, rule or policy applicable to you or your department/sport program. Actively participate in assigned education and training programs. Comply with all laws, policies, rules and regulations set forth by the Board of Regents of The University of Texas System, The University of Texas at Austin, NCAA, Conference, or other governing body, including state and federal laws. Annually obtain prior written approval and report all outside activities and outside income. Report knowledge of, or reasonable cause to believe, violation(s) of state or federal laws, policies, rules, or regulations of the University, Conference, or NCAA to IA ARMCS or IA HR. Fully cooperate with any investigation by providing complete and accurate information when requested to do so by Texas Athletics and/or the NCAA and do not influence others in any way during an investigation. Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, or related field. Three or more years of experience in collegiate athletics administration, operations or in a coaching position. Strong organizational and communication skills, with attention to detail. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Sports Management, Business Administration or related field. Experience working in a Division I collegiate athletics program. Demonstrated experience with roster management systems and student-athlete data platforms (e.g., SAIS, Teamworks). Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).

Driving Required

This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident. Employees who are required to have a CDL are subject to drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, random, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing).

Salary Range

$45,000 + depending on qualifications
