Location Designation:Hybrid - 3 days per week

The Finance Technology team is a trusted partner to the Finance organization working to identify solutions for the execution of strategic initiatives and critical business functions regarding process efficiency, data accessibility, governance and service provider relationship management.

The Business Analyst position is responsible for coordinating business requirements for changes to business processes, policies and information systems. The business analyst understands business problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements and partners with the business to evaluate solutions. The position navigates across functional and technical boundaries to facilitate relationships and translate business needs into finance and technology solutions.

What You'll Do:

Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business objectives, products, and regulatory requirements.
  • Document detailed business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
  • Translate business needs into clear, actionable user stories or BRDs (Business Requirements Documents).
  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, collaborating with business and technical stakeholders.

Process Improvement

  • Analyze current workflows and identify gaps or inefficiencies.
  • Recommend process changes and support business transformation initiatives.

System Implementation & Support

  • Liaise with IT, QA, and product teams to support the development, testing, and deployment of new or enhanced systems.
  • Validate solution design aligns with business needs during UAT (User Acceptance Testing).
  • Provide post-implementation support and help in user training and documentation.

Domain Expertise

  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in Life Insurance products (Term, Whole Life, UL/VUL, Annuities, etc.).
  • Stay updated on new products, product re-pricing and modernization efforts across the enterprise.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Finance, Insurance, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in the insurance industry, preferably in Life Insurance.
  • Familiarity with insurance platforms (e.g., Policy Admin Systems like ALIP, FAST,etc.).
  • Experience with Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies.

Preferred Skills

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in tools like Microsoft Excel, Visio, Jira, SQL.
  • Knowledge of insurance regulatory bodies (NAIC, FINRA, etc.) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of NYL products and applications is a plus.

Pay Transparency

Salary Range:$102,500-$160,000

Overtime eligible:Exempt

Discretionary bonus eligible:Yes

Sales bonus eligible:No

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
