After reviewing the position description, if you feel you are a fit for our organization and possess the required qualifications, we invite you to apply: The Senior Aviation Military Analyst will provide high-level analysis, assessment, coordination, and subject matter expertise in support of the U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence (AVCOE) G5 and associated training brigades, as well as the Capability Development and Integration Directorate (CDID). The position supports functions related to Doctrine, Organization, Training, Materiel, Leadership and Education, Personnel, Facilities, and Policies (DOTMLPF-P), with a focus on enterprise-level integration, strategic planning, and senior leader engagement across the Aviation Enterprise and relevant Community of Practice (CoP). This position requires a candidate with extensive Army Aviation experience at the operational and strategic levels, capable of independently leading complex projects, representing AVCOE G5 in high-visibility forums, and providing authoritative recommendations to senior leaders. Please note:Candidates must already reside within a commutable distance to Fort Rucker, AL, or be willing to relocate at their own expense prior to the start date, as this position requires regular on-site support. ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE REQUIRED. Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Lead coordination with AVCOE Directorates, Brigade Commanders, ACMs, and Program Managers (PMs) to synchronize and maintain the Aviation Enterprise Common Operating Picture.
- Develop and deliver senior-level (2-4 Star) briefings, speeches, and articles on Army Aviation operations, training, doctrine, and program management within TRADOC, ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives.
- Author speeches, official remarks, and strategic communications for Army executives, including congressional testimony and high-visibility publications.
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis on Army Aviation strategy, modernization initiatives, and doctrinal evolution to inform leadership decisions.
- Prepare high-quality, time-sensitive deliverables including executive summaries, information papers, and decision briefs for senior leaders.
- Represent AVCOE G5 in senior forums such as the General Officer Steering Committee, Councils of Colonels, Aviation Senior Leader Forums, and Army Aviation Synchronization Meetings.
- Provide expert recommendations to inform DOTMLPF-P assessments, capability development, and enterprise-wide planning efforts.
- Interface with senior leaders across HQDA, TRADOC, FORSCOM, AMCOM, AMC, PEO Aviation, CDID, USASOAC, and TAPO, ensuring enterprise-wide integration and synchronization.
- Oversee and mentor mid-level analysts and junior staff, providing guidance on task execution, deliverable quality, and client engagement.
- Lead cross-enterprise planning and synchronization efforts involving Army Staff, AMCOM, PEO Aviation, USASOAC, and CDID.
- Engage with Program Executive Officers (PEOs) to influence fielding plans, training development, life-cycle sustainment, and resource prioritization via PPBES, POMs, and UFRs.
- Ensure AVCOE G5 participation in high-priority operational and planning events, integrating outputs into enterprise strategies and initiatives.
- Establish and enforce a Quality Control Program (QCP) for all G5 deliverables.
- Track and report program and financial management activities in Monthly Status Reports.
Required Qualifications (Education, Skills, Experience):
- BA/BS degree required.
- Minimum of 15 years of aviation experience, including senior planning and operational synchronization at the enterprise level.
- Must have served in the Aviation Branch (Rotary or Fixed Wing) of the Active Army as a Commissioned Officer, or as a Senior Warrant Officer with relevant education and experience. Applicants without military aviation experience (e.g., civilians or most NCOs) will generally not be considered, but may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis if their background strongly aligns with the role.
- Extensive Army and Aviation experience, with proven success in strategic-level planning, decision support, and executive engagement.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver high-visibility briefings, speeches, and written communications for 2-4 Star leaders.
- Deep understanding of Army Aviation combat operations, doctrinal application across operational echelons, and enemy tactics/capabilities.
- Mastery of DOTMLPF-P assessment processes, capability development cycles, and Aviation Transformation initiatives.
- Proven track record of leading multi-stakeholder integration and synchronization efforts across the Army Aviation Enterprise.
- Expert research, writing, and communication skills for executive audiences.
- Ability to manage high-priority, short-turn deliverables with speed and precision.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills, with demonstrated ability to mentor and lead teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MA/MS degree strongly preferred.
- PMP certification preferred.
- Previous service on AVCOE Staff strongly preferred.
- Experience serving on the Army or Joint Staff.

Work Environment: The primary work location for this position is on-site at Fort Rucker, AL. All applicants must be within a travelable distance to the work location.
