GENERAL PURPOSE
The Director of Plant Engineering leads the facilities, grounds, and custodial teams to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant plant operations. This role develops and executes strategies forinfrastructure, utilities, and environmental stewardship across multiple sites. The Director providesstrategic leadership, manages large teams, and influences policies and practices acrossdepartments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Own and execute short- to mid-term operational plans for facilities and infrastructure.

  • Lead managers and supervisors in facilities, custodial, and environmental complianceteams.

  • Influence internal and external stakeholders on engineering standards and sustainabilitypractices.

  • Manage capital and expense budgets for facilities operations.

  • Drive improvements in building systems, utilities, and environmental performance.

  • Solve complex problems impacting multiple departments through strategic analysis.

  • Lead safety programs and ensure proactive compliance with EPA, DEQ, DNR, and otherregulations.

  • Champion emerging technologies and engineering innovations.

  • Make decisions on staffing, development, and performance management within thefacilities team.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or equivalent.

  • 10+ years of experience in plant engineering or facilities leadership.

  • Mastery-level knowledge of facilities systems and environmental regulations.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills with cross-functional influence

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strategic vision and tactical execution capability within a facilities management context.

  • Strong business acumen and understanding of value creation in plant operations.

  • Expertise in project management and enterprise-level program execution.

  • Advanced problem-solving and decision-making skills grounded in data and systemthinking.

  • Ability to navigate complex organizations and build consensus across cultural andfunctional boundaries.

  • Skilled in coaching, mentoring, and developing leaders within a diverse team.
