Role Description

Location: US Remote

Position Summary

The Operations Lead for Medical Platforms/Education (MP/E) and Medical Services (MS) reports to the Head of Medical Services and serves as a key member of the Global Diagnostics Medical Leadership Team. This position is responsible for driving operational excellence, cross-functional alignment, and strategic execution for Medical Platforms, Medical Education, and Medical Services. The role partners closely with leadership across Zoetis Global Diagnostics to ensure effective implementation of medical strategy, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement in support of Global Diagnostics business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Medical Operations Leadership

  • Partner with GDX Medical Platforms/Education (MP/E) and Medical Services (MS) leadership to develop, implement, and monitor long-term medical strategy and annual operating plans.

  • Oversee and ensure alignment of MP/E and MS initiatives with Global Diagnostics business objectives.

  • Analyze industry trends, innovation opportunities, and internal performance metrics to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement, including identifying inefficiencies.

  • Plan and facilitate standing cross-functional meetings, organizational reviews, strategic planning processes, and business performance evaluations.

  • Serve as a thought leader and trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing guidance on operational issues, risk mitigation, and resource allocation.

Cross-Functional & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Facilitate transparent communication and collaboration across MP/E, MS, and other key functions (e.g., Marketing, Sales, Finance, Legal).

  • Lead cross-functional project teams for major initiatives (e.g., clinical studies, new product introductions, medical education programs, service developments).

  • Represent MP/E and MS in global forums, steering committees, and operational decision-making bodies.

  • Ensure effective information flow and knowledge sharing between global and regional teams.

Operational Excellence & Process Improvement

  • Oversee and track operational budgets, resource planning, and headcount tracking in partnership with MP/E and MS leadership, Finance, and HR.

  • Drive continuous process improvement, including development and implementation of SOPs, automation opportunities, and best practices for optimal internal and cross-functional communication and operational efficiency.

  • Manage vendor and contingent worker relationships, contract negotiations, and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Define and track KPIs for quality, service level, operational excellence, and financial stewardship within Medical Services.

  • Define and track KPIs to measure the impact and effectiveness of medical platforms and education initiatives.

  • Serve as a resource for colleagues within MP/E and MS organizations for

People Leadership & Organizational Development

  • Provide direct and matrix leadership to project managers, coordinators, and cross-functional team members.

  • Foster a culture of high performance, accountability, psychological safety, and professional development within the team.

  • Mentor and develop talent, including succession planning and support for intern and university partnership programs.

Organizational Relationships

  • GDX-MA and MS Organizations

  • Commercial, Marketing, Legal, Finance, and Sales Leadership

  • External partners, vendors, and key opinion leaders (KOLs)

  • University and academic stakeholders

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) required; Advanced degrees in business, management, medical/health or life sciences desired. Certification in project management, business operations, or related also desired.

  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in the veterinary or animal health industry, including significant leadership in medical affairs, technical services, or related operational roles.

  • Demonstrated experience in strategy development, cross-functional leadership, and operational management in a global or matrixed environment.

  • Strong understanding of companion animal veterinary medicine preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Proven ability to lead through influence and drive results in complex, fast-paced environments.

  • Demonstrated expertise in prioritizing and managing multiple complex projects, maintaining organizational focus, and appropriately escalating critical issues.

  • Advanced project and process management skills (e.g., Asana, Microsoft Project, Smartsheets).

  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; able to build relationships at all levels.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and business acumen.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to quickly learn Zoetis-specific systems.

  • People leadership and talent development experience preferred.

Travel Requirements

Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%, including occasional weekends, for meetings and training.

The following base pay range reflects the anticipated base pay for this position if a selected candidate were to
be located in (Colorado). Base pay may vary based on location and other factors.

Base Pay Range: $126,000 - $181,000

The following base pay range reflects the anticipated base pay for this position if a selected candidate were to be located in (California), (NJ Remote), (NY Remote), or (Washington). Base pay may vary based on location and
other factors.

Base Pay Range: $134,000 - $205,000
