  • Minimum acute care three years (3) experience required.


Job Description:

  • The Clinical Nurse (RN) has the responsibility, accountability, and the authority to deliver safe, effective, quality, excellent nursing care according to the philosophy and goals/objectives of the Department of Nursing.
  • The RN, utilizing Jean Watson's Theory of Caring, Relationship Based Care, and NorthBay's professional nursing practice model assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care for all patients assigned to his/her care.
  • The RN makes determinations regarding the progress of the patient toward goals and utilizes a therapeutic professional relationship with the patient/family and interdisciplinary team to facilitate the promotion, maintenance, and restoration of health.
  • Care is provided according to the specific physiologic, developmental and psychosocial needs of the patient.
  • Supports the mission, vision, values and expectation of excellence of the organization.
  • The RN shall be considered to be competent when he/she consistently demonstrates the ability to transfer scientific knowledge from social, biological and physical sciences in applying the nursing process, as follows: Provides care that is consistent with the interdisciplinary plan of care and grounded in the principles of Relationship Based Care.
  • Assess patient physical and psychosocial condition on an ongoing basis and formulates a nursing diagnosis through observation of the client's physical condition and behavior, and through interpretation of information obtained from the client and others, including the health team.
  • Formulates a care plan in collaboration with the client, which ensures that direct and indirect nursing care services provide for the client's safety, comfort, hygiene and protection and for disease prevention and restorative measures.
  • Performs skills essential to the kind of nursing action to be taken, explains the health treatment to the client and family and teaches the client and family how to care for the client's health needs.


Required Certification:

  • CA state active RN License.
  • BLS certification.
  • ACLS certification.
  • NIHSS certification.
