Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Ability to obtain a Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.


Responsibilities for this Position

Role and Position Objectives:

This position involves interacting with multi-disciplinary (electrical, optical, mechanical, systems, software engineering) design teams to assist in the overall development of systems; planning and leading root cause analysis for electro-optic issues, conducting experimental tests, evaluating results to formulate and implement solutions to issues, contributing to the generation and maintenance of documentation, specifying, selecting and qualifying active and passive components; developing and benchmarking system performance models; developing and implementing test procedures, and evaluating and selecting appropriate test instrumentation. The ideal candidate is a multi-disciplinary engineer with a solid background in electrical engineering and knowledge or experience with optical communications.

We encourage you to apply if you have any of these preferred skills or experiences:

  • Proven experience with mixed signal circuit design and analysis skills. HyperLynx, Cadence, or LTspice preferred.
  • Experience with the design of high-speed electro-optic circuits. Experience with data rates >3 Gbps is highly valuable.
  • Knowledge of with electrical circuit design in communications applications.
What sets you apart:
  • Experience with R&D rapid turnaround including concept, design, modeling, prototype, vendor interface, and test.
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering computer-aided design (CAD) tools. Xpedition or Allegro preferred.
  • Knowledge of electro-optic assembly and test, communications-related tools (BERT, sampling oscilloscope, OSA).
  • Familiarity with software development. C++, Matlab, VHDL, Python preferred.
  • Motivated to drive innovation around design architectures, assembly, component selection, and electronics design.
  • Collaborative team player committed to ongoing professional development for yourself and others.


Target salary range: USD $137,714.00/Yr. - USD $149,000.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
