SUMMARY/OBJECTIVES

This position is responsible for, but not limited to, performing simple to complex reviews of commercial property evaluations, validations, and appraisals, as needed. It is also the responsibility of the Commercial Appraisal Review Analyst to take ownership of all tasks and challenges that they encounter in the operation of their assigned position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

This position is expected to perform the specific duties, tasks, and responsibilities as outlined below:

  • Ensure that the Bank's policies and procedures, code of conduct, and regulatory guidelines are strictly complied with.
  • Perform the procurement and ordering process.
  • Assist as required with regulatory exams and internal audits.
  • Assist as needed with updating bank appraisal policies and bulletins.
  • Assist as needed bank employees and appraisers with appraisal related inquiries and issues.
  • Assist in the training of bank employees and appraisal team members on appraisal related material and systems.
  • Maintain contact with various departments to monitor the pipeline of appraisals and resolve problems relative to requests and review of appraisals.
  • Oversee appraisal requests to ensure that the skill level outside fee appraisers and reviewers is sufficient and that the fee quotes are reasonable.
  • Assist in the implementation of new technology and software applicable to the appraisal department.
  • Prepare performance evaluation for support staff members assigned to them.
  • Aid other employees by liaising with them through healthy and positive interactions.
  • Be involved in performing marketing endeavors/efforts.
  • Continuously update skills by participating in professional training.
  • Seek opportunities to improve skills through cross-training offered by the Bank.
  • All other tasks, responsibilities, or duties, as directed by management.

COMPETENCIES

  • Strong commercial/residential appraisal experience/knowledge required.
  • Proficient with general office machines and programs to include Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and other software that might be utilized in the department.
  • Knowledge of USPAP, FIRREA, OCC, HVCC and FNMA /FHLMC guidelines and regulations pertaining to Real Estate appraisals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize assignments.
  • Ability to use the computer efficiently and the capacity to learn new software programs as they are rolled out by the Bank.
  • Must possess basic English language skills to write and speak clearly, and effectively with coworkers and customers.
  • Must be well-organized, accurate, and attentive to detail.
  • Must be cooperative and willing to assist coworkers and customers on a regular basis.
  • Must have effective listening skills demonstrated by the ability to listen to others talk (without interruption), understand them, and then propose solutions or make contributions based on the points made by others.
  • Must possess excellent multi-tasking skills and be able to function well under pressure.
  • Must be able to remain composed under pressure and respond to customer and coworker concerns regularly.
  • Must have a keen eye for detail and follow instructions to the letter.
  • Must be patient and willing to help others in solving problems while always maintaining a positive attitude.

Qualifications, Education, and Certification Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or University preferred, or equivalent prior work experience.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in an appraisal or appraisal review related field. Field experience preferred but not required.
  • Certifications/Specific Knowledge: State Certified General Real Estate Appraiser is required. A qualified candidate should have successfully completed or be willing to complete in short order: Appraisal Institute courses including Basic Appraisal Principles, Basic Appraisal Procedures, USPAP 15- hour course; plus remaining courses to become State Certified General RE Appraiser.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to remain seated or work standing in a confined area on a computer for a minimum of four (4) hours each workday.
  • Must be able to constantly use hands and fingers to enter data through or on a computer or answer a phone throughout most of an eight (8) hour shift.
  • Must be able to hear and communicate with coworkers and customers (internal and external) throughout the day.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Position may require regular before/after normal business hours, or regular out-of-town travel for meetings, training sessions, or community events.

  • Must be able to function in a professional, business office environment and act and dress appropriately for same, consistent with the Bank's grooming and dress codes.

For telecommuters or hybrid: Telecommuting roles no matter if hybrid or 100% full time telecommuting must have a secure home office environment that is free from background noise and distractions. They must also have a reliable private internet connection that is not supplied by use of cellular data (hot spot). Cable or fiber connections are preferred. Requirements are subject to change, as new systems and technology is delivered.

TRAVEL

Travel may be required to come to meetings as needed.

In accordance with Colorado law: Colorado pay for this position is anticipated to be between $66,440.00 - $106,131.00 , actual offers to be determined based on applicant's skills, experience and education.
