JOB DESCRIPTION Preference will be given to candidates with power and controls electrical CAD experience within the utility industry related to the design and installation of natural gas pipelines, compressor stations and process equipment. Responsibilities Participate in onsite facility evaluations and collaborate with engineers and field operational teams to understand project requirements and translate them into technical drawings. Create detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and diagrams using computer-aided design (CAD) software and other drafting tools. Develop and update electrical layout plans, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and control panel designs for natural gas distribution facilities such as compressor stations, metering stations, and pipeline installations. Review and incorporate markups, redlines, and revisions into drawings as directed by the engineering team. Select materials and prepare material lists based on standards, specifications, operation requirements and engineers' direction. Perform calculations including electrical load calculations, conduit and electrical system sizing, and equipment capacity. Ensure design drawings meet Company specifications, regulatory and safety requirements. Assist Engineers with resolving any electrical design issues and developing effective solutions. Requirements Associate's degree in design and CAD technology and a minimum of three or more years' electrical CAD experience within the utility industry. American Design Drating Association (ADDA) certification is preferred. Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel is required. Proficient with Adobe/BlueBeam is preferred. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and customer service skills. The ability to stay up to date with the latest developments in electrical systems and best pracces. Valid drivers' license and ability to travel to remote work locations. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently. |
