Qualifications

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintains all closed medical records
  • Responds to requests for medical records
  • Pulls records as requested by staff including daily pulls for appointments
  • Files documentation presented by clinical staff
  • With appropriate, signed request for information, copies records upon appropriate request for billing, legal services, or medical records requests
  • Request historical records from other organizations according to policy.
  • Knows standards for medical records maintenance and ensures compliance with all ADP and Joint Commission requirements.
  • Tracks information needed to meet medical record standards, auditing the records and ensuring the records are complete before they are closed.
  • Keeps supervisor informed of problems or issues; monitors supplies needed
  • Performs all other duties as required or assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Medical Records or Job-Related field certification required; Associates Degree in Job-Related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with medical records preferred.
