The Position

As a Scientist Ops you will conduct and monitor production activities or laboratory experiments utilizing established and published procedures or batch records and technical and theoretical understanding while managing schedules and work flow to accomplish assigned objectives or schedules.

The Opportunity

  • You will conduct and monitor production activities or laboratory experiments utilizing established and published procedures or batch records, applying technical and theoretical understanding while managing schedules and workflow to meet assigned objectives.

  • Perform non-routine laboratory experiments to support product investigations and process improvements, and design, plan, and execute assigned investigation/troubleshooting activities, research/development-related projects leveraging scientific knowledge and accumulated experience.

  • Assume responsibility for the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of production work or testing activities, summarize batch or experimental results, review conclusions with a supervisor/project leader, and communicate results. Keep a supervisor/project leader informed of work status, particularly significant findings and critical problem areas.

  • Analyze and interpret test results or experimental data using various data analysis software, spreadsheets, and/or quantitative methods. Use technical writing skills to prepare reports and documents. May also present findings at group or departmental meetings.

  • Maintain accountability for batch records, hard copies, or electronic lab notebook documentation, ensuring experimental methods and results are recorded timely, accurately, and consistently, and according to established formats.

  • Troubleshoot issues related to equipment or processes; with guidance, analyze and brainstorm alternative approaches to problem-solving, make recommendations, and develop solutions to resolve problems effectively.

  • Establish and maintain appropriate internal, cross-functional, or customer relationships as needed and perform other duties as assigned by management.

Who You Are

  • You have a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience

  • You have 3 years of relevant industry experience or general laboratory experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • The successful candidate has a background in PCR. Preferable in laboratory/manufacturing settings and with experience in conducting troubleshooting experimentations.
