Job Description

You will work with project engineers, plant operations and manufacturing services on the integration and interconnection of manufacturing lines within a manufacturing plant. You will lead or support the commissioning and troubleshooting of industrial controls equipment and automation systems used in the manufacturing and warehousing of components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies within a Rockwell Automation manufacturing facility. You will always be on the hunt for continuous improvement and will interact with various process technology owners to support our manufacturing standards. You will report to the Manager of Final Assembly Process Engineering. You will work onsite from Milwaukee, WI.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Manage large scale production line integration projects
  • Establish business relationships with internal customers and external suppliers to support design, build and qualify equipment for operation's manufacturing space.
  • Lead cross functional teams to create and implement standard assembly processes and technologies. Work with design and industrialization teams to identify technologies and processes to meet the needs of new product designs.
  • Commission new automated processes and warehouse technologies.
  • Enhance existing manufacturing operations, driving improved OEE and greater operational resiliency
  • Optimize and standardize manufacturing lines for existing products throughout the product manufacturing life cycle.
  • Build competencies and subject matter expertise in automated assembly processes and warehouse technologies.
  • Document and share knowledge with internal engineering teams.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
  • The ability to travel 15% of the time.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
  • 5+ years of experience managing engineering projects
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Automation Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Experience working with 3rd party vendors, integrators and OEMs regarding equipment procurement
  • Demonstrated responsibility managing large capital budgets
  • The ability to read and interpret complex electrical and electronic circuit schematics, electrical and mechanical equipment design drawings, bills of materials, specifications, procedures and technical manuals.
  • Technical experience with multiple technologies (Allen-Bradley PLC's and HMI's, controllers, conveyance, motors, robots, vision, sensors, network switches, etc.)
  • A strong tendency to include others in issue resolution discussions and outcomes
  • Lean manufacturing belt certification and experience implementing lean tools
  • Enthusiasm for Project Management basics (tasks, milestones, owners)
  • A critical thinking mindset to evaluate key factors (e.g., costs, benefits, timeliness, and risks) and all reasonable alternatives before making decisions.
  • The desire to build relationships with other business groups to create synergy in optimizing process automation and ensuring the application of appropriate automation technology and information security within the manufacturing plant.
  • The passion to train other functions (Industrialization, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations and Business Units) on standard processes that are developed for Rockwell Automation and, where applicable, drive consistency on knowledge
  • Technical awareness with miscellaneous process equipment (laser marking, fastener torquing, wire and cabling standards, potting and dispensing)
  • Collaborating with IT and OT/MES functions to develop processes and equipment to support Rockwell Automation's Connected Enterprise journey
  • Experience writing technical documents and training
  • CAD experience creating 3D models. Electrical wiring diagrams
  • PMP certification
