Job Description

You will support Rockwell Automation's digital transformation within electronic assembly. You will support a global manufacturing team supporting our work around Printed Circuit Board Assembly and IoT. You will collaborate with our equipment manufacturers to make machine data available in formats that can be consumed within Rockwell Automation's systems. You will report to the Manager of PCBA Process Engineering. You will work hybrid from either Mequon, WI or Twinsburg, OH.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Support Rockwell Automation's connected enterprise by interfacing machine outputs to internal systems.
  • Maintain subject matter expertise in the following communication interface protocols:
    • Surface Mount Equipment Manufacturers Association (SMEMA)
    • Semi Equipment Communications Standard (SECS)
    • Generic Equipment Model (Gem)
    • Connected Factory Exchange (CFX)
    • Hermies (IPC-HERMES-9852)
  • Lead efforts collaborating with production, IT, and MES teams to connect newly installed equipment
  • Research and evaluate emerging equipment communication technologies through benchmarking, conferences, and technical forums.
  • Create and maintain standards, procedures, technical documentation, and training materials specific to PCBA manufacturing equipment connections to internal systems
  • Assess global PCBA facilities for compliance to standards
  • Lead standardization efforts for various IT infrastructure supported systems like recipe management
The Essentials - You Will Have:
  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
  • The ability to travel 10% of the time
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
  • 5+ years of experience working with PCBA
  • Understanding of communication interface protocols like SMEMA, Gem, Hermes, and Connected Factory Exchange (CFX)
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a cross-functional team to drive positive change
