Job Title: AWS Cloud Architect Clearance Required: Public Trust Clearance Work Location: Kansas City, MO, Fort Collins Co., and Remote Alpha Omega is seeking a qualified AWS Cloud Architect supporting the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) under the Customer Revenue and Operations Planning (CROP) program. This project focuses on improving how USDA delivers services by using better technology, data, and processes. Key Responsibilities:
- Notable experience with successfully designing, developing, and maintaining complex code and immutable DevSecOps CICD pipeline architecture.
- Assessment of current technology stacks of applications and providing architectural guidance and close the gaps in offerings for AWS Cloud native migration.
- Implement Proof of Concepts to explore potential solutions to a problem.
- Conduct Architecture walkthroughs for stakeholders.
- Familiar with designing and implementing automated Dev-Ops architecture and CI/CD pipelines in AWS application for release management of development efforts and on-going production operations.
- Must have familiarity with programing languages such as: Java, JavaScript, C#( .NET Framework and .NET Core), MuleSoft, Angular, Swift, Node.js, Spring Framework and Spring Boot, Web Services (REST and SOAP).
- Must have familiarity with cross-platform scripting languages and build tools (Python, Artifactory, Groovy, Maven, MS Build, Nexus, NuGet).
- Must have familiarity with WebHooks, REST API, JSON, XML, SMTP and SQL Query.
- Must have ability to provide firm, clear perspective of cloud solution to business, but also able to assure stakeholders that the cloud solutions recommended are secure, resilient, cost-efficient, and managed with operational excellence.
- Supporting and contributing to business security requirements, such as the creation of security policies, procedures, and processes.
- Ensure that all cloud solutions follow security and compliance controls.
- Provide thought leadership on cloud platform technology use, design, and implementation.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate sophisticated topics in simple and accessible language.
- Transparent in nature for business updates & communications to share best practices and industry point of view to bring new ideas.
- Participate in Daily standup, Refinements, Demos and other ceremonies as part of a dynamic Agile Team.
Required Qualifications: Education:
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant degree is required.
Experience/Skills:
- 8+ years of Software Engineering and/or Cloud Services Development experience is required.
- Strong understanding of architectural design patterns and how to apply them in the most practical manner into an overall solution design in AWS Cloud.
- Experience in developing DevSecOps CI/CD pipeline in AWS meeting high availability, Performance, security and scalability criteria.
- Hands-on experience using compute, networking, storage, and database specific AWS services. Specially following AWS PaaS services are must - VPC, subnets, DNS, EC2, API Gateway, Lambda, S3, MSSQL, RDS, Cloud Watch, ELK, EKS, and IAM.
- Hands-on experience creating DevSecOps CICD pipelines, working on AWS infra, lots of design and architecture work with AWS services, deploying in AWS.
- Strong understanding of security tools like Sonarqube, Micro Focus Fortify, Nexus Sonatype IQ scan with a focus on automating security and compliance best practices in a DevSecOps CICD pipeline.
- Strong knowledge of API design principles and experience in designing solutions as part of a Services-Oriented-Architecture (SOA), Microservices and event driven architectures for high-availability web applications.
- Strong understanding of cloud-ready architectures that utilize SaaS and PaaS cloud models.
- Experience working in an Agile (e.g., Scrum, SAFE frameworks etc.) SDLC model using DevOps best practices.
- Strong Analytical and Communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Federal government experience a definite plus
- Previous experience providing database system administration support for a scientific community
- Working experience with other relational databases, including PostgreSQL and MariaDB
- Familiarity with cloud-based technologies and processes, with a focus on AWS
- AWS RDS experience and migrating relational databases from on-premises to the cloud is desired
- Familiarity with non-relational data technologies, for example graph databases, key-value databases (Redis, AWS DynamoDB), search/analytics engines (ElasticSearch), vector databases etc.
- Strong knowledge of the full software development lifecycle, with exposure to Agile or iterative approaches to delivery
Salary and Benefit Information: The likely salary range for this position is $99,590 - $138,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position and could fall outside of this range.
