GENERAL SUMMARY: Facilitates the Medical and Allied Health Staff credentialing and privileging processes in compliance with state and regulartory agency requirements. Serves as the key resource for the Medical Staff Credentials Chair and Committee. Collaborates with medical staff leaders to facilitate the peer review process. Collaborates with Medical Staff to support the organization's mission, vision and goals, as well as fulfilling the requirements of the Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and other Medical Staff policies and procedures. PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. *Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values. 2. *Acts as a key resource to the Credentials Committee Chair and members, and provider applicants or designees. 3. *Faciliates the credentialing and privileging application process for all Bryan Medical Center Medical Staff and Allied Health Practitioner Staff in accordance with The Joint Commission (TJC) Standards, CMS Conditions of Participation and Bryan Medical Staff Bylaws. 4. * Facilitates and provides guidance for Medical Staff Division and Department Chairs regarding the peer review process. 5. *Serves as Bryan Health CVO Operations Team Lead and serves as a key resource for other Bryan Health entities' medical staff offices. 6. *Responsible for Credentials Committee reports. Follows through on actions recommended at meetings; prepares necessary correspondence; sends reports for further action. 7. *Provides guidance to providers on requests for additional clinical privileges, new procedures and for Medical Staff status changes. 8. *Collaborates with medical staff leadership to ensure privilege delineation forms are up-to-date with current standards and for developing competency criterion for individual clinical privileges. 9. *Composes and disseminates correspondence from the Board to the Medical Staff regarding decisions related to credentialing, privileges and resignations 10. *Facilitates the medical staff Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE) and Focused Professional Practice Evaluation (FPPE) functions in accordance with The Joint Commission (TJC) Standards, CMS Conditions of Participation and Bryan Medical Staff Bylaws. 11. *Facilitates the Proxy Credentialing process between rural entities and Bryan Medical Center and serves as key resource regarding proxy-credentialing regulations for the rural facilities. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree in Administrative or Health Care Field or five (5) years of equivalent work experience required. |
