Full-Time/Regular STGi is currently seeking a Receptionist to provide services at our Texas State Veterans Home. The William R. Courtney Texas State Veterans Home is located in Temple, TX. Our staff provides compassionate and specialized care to our nation's veterans. We focus on providing the best experience for residents and their families. JOB SUMMARY: The primary purpose of this position is to perform administrative duties in accordance with established procedures as directed by the supervisor. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Professionally greet individuals who are visiting residents and staff. * Record and track individuals who are entering and exiting the building in accordance with established procedures. * Answer phone in professional manner, transfer calls as appropriate, take accurate concise messages, and answer call lights as directed. * Assist with providing water and ice to veterans as directed. * Assist Administrator, Director of Nursing and other Supervisors with administrative duties as directed. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: * Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language. * Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. * Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with team members, residents, visitors and the public. * Must possess the ability to work harmoniously with other team members. * Must be able to follow written and oral instructions. * Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm as well as be willing to handle residents, staff and visitors based on whatever maturity level they are currently functioning. * Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace. REQUIRED EDUCATION: * Must possess, as a minimum a high school diploma or GED. * On-the-job training provided. * Basic knowledge of medical terminology and nursing practices is helpful. WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: * Works in office areas as well as throughout the facility. * Moves intermittently during working hours. * Subject to frequent interruptions. * Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends, holidays, other shifts and in other positions when necessary. * Communicates with nursing team members, and other department team members. * Is subject to difficult and emotionally upset residents, family members, team members, visitors, etc. * Is involved with residents, family members, team members, visitors, government agencies, etc., under all conditions and circumstances. * Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility which include a medical and physical assessment.
