Summary

Responsible for troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of operations/production equipment

Essential Functions

  1. Diagnose and resolve issues with production welders, torches, saws, and metal finishing equipment in a timely manner
  2. Diagnose and repair overhead roll doors throughout the facility
  3. Inspect and maintain equipment and systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.)
  4. Perform routine checks to prevent breakdowns
  5. Replace worn or damaged parts before failure
  6. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, or plumbing issues
  7. Repair or replace faulty components
  8. Use tools and diagnostic equipment to identify problems
  9. Maintain cleanliness and safety of work areas
  10. Paint, patch walls, and perform minor carpentry
  11. Ensure lighting, doors, and windows are functional
  12. Set up new machinery or systems
  13. Follow safety and manufacturer guidelines
  14. Keep records of maintenance and repairs
  15. Respond to urgent maintenance calls
  16. Work after hours or on-call as needed
  17. Committed to a maintaining positive attitude and caring about people

Competencies

  1. Must be able to work as a part of a team to achieve the company's overall goals;
  2. Must demonstrate clear verbal and written communication skills (English);
  3. Must be able to read and process written communication including, but not limited to, work orders, frame prints, and measurements
  4. Must be able to meet production goals and time deadlines for company projects
  5. Must be able to work with minimum supervision
  6. Must demonstrate understanding and execution of machine operation and repair techniques
  7. Must demonstrate welding competency and knowledge of welding systems;
  8. Must be able to operate appropriate equipment including repair tooling and devices, arc and MIG welders, band saws, acetylene torches, tape measures, etc.
  9. Must be able to physically lift and maneuver weights in excess of fifty pounds
  10. Must be able to operate a Lift Truck or Tractor as necessary
  11. Must possess successful problem solving skills
  12. Must be able to exhibit tact and diplomacy and maintain professional relationships
  13. with supervisors, fellow employees, customers, etc.
  14. Must be able to work under physically and mentally stressful situations
  15. Must be able to prioritize and easily adapt to changes through the day.

Supervisory Responsibility

This role does not have any supervisory responsibility upon hiring.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires 98% standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing ladders. The employee may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time hourly position. Monday - Friday 1st shift. Some Mandatory Saturdays.

Travel

Travel to secure necessary parts or tooling

Required Education and Experience

  1. High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  2. Experience/Education in machine operation and repair preferred
  3. Welding competency and knowledge of welding systems preferred
  4. Lift Truck Operators License preferred (training available).
