Job Title: Flight Readiness Technician Inspectors
Location: San Antonio, TX
Duration: 9 Months
Position Responsibilities
- Performs verification and inspection of flight component installation and operational functional testing of aircraft systems.
- Inspects and verifies troubleshooting of pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and avionics systems to isolate mechanical and/or electrical/electronic faults and documents faulty components.
- Conducts inspection of pre-flight and post-flight checks and performs inspections of maintenance and modification prior to delivery.
- Supports documentation of identified problems during operation and testing of deliverable products.
- Verifies the accuracy of work performed and may conduct self-inspection.
- Assists in performing system and sub-system pre-delivery inspections and aircraft maintenance inspections in preparation for delivery.
- Participates in determining details of assignments to accomplish a wide range of objectives.
- Plans, schedules, and arranges own activities with the assistance of lead.
- Inspects, documents, and creates non-conformance records with minimal assistance.
Note: This work statement is a non-managerial, non-leadership role.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
- Ability to ascend/descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift approximately 35 pounds.
- Exposure to noise and elevated platforms.
- Use of personal protective equipment (face, eyes, ears, hands, arms) as required.
- Must pass visual acuity and color perception tests.
- Experience with interpreting detailed written and verbal work instructions.
- Handling, use, and proper disposal of hazardous materials.
- Obtain and maintain required training certifications.
Physical Activities:
- Occasional (1-3 hrs) finger manipulation.
- Occasional 2-person lifts for weights > 50 lbs.
- Frequent reaching overhead (3-6 hrs), walking on flat surfaces, and standing on flat/uneven surfaces.
- Frequent balancing on ladders, steps, or uneven surfaces.
- Occasional climbing on 3-12 ft ladders or stands.
- Rotation of head/neck, sitting, crawling, squatting, bending/stretching.
- Occasional contact with metals.
- Frequent exposure to noise.
Basic Qualifications (Required)
- Must be able to work any shift, including days, nights, and weekends.
- 3+ years of experience in the aerospace industry.
- 3+ years of experience in quality inspection and/or auditing.
- 3+ years of experience working with Velocity and other 787 production applications.
- Experience in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired)
- FAA Airframe & Power Plant license.
- 3+ years of Foreign Object Debris (FOD) risk experience.
- 3+ years of 787 Program experience.
- 2+ years of formal or informal team leadership experience.
- Proficient in REDARS, PSDS, and BAC specifications.
- Skilled in NCR (Non-Conformance Record) and EPD (Emergent Process Document) generation: NC/NCR/RGEN/PU/SAT/SRR/PU or RGEN Revision, etc.
- Experience using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- 3+ years of flight line operations experience.
