Job Description
General Purpose of Job:
- Perform general clerical, organizational and office duties.
Essential Duties: This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Caregivers may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.
- Assist in the efficient operations in assigned areas, and occasionally additional departments, to maintain excellent customer relations.
- Communicates with patients, families, members of the health care team and others in a professional, diplomatic and empathetic manner
- Assists with compiling the necessary supportive documents required for patients transitioning to a different site of care
- Assisting in waiting rooms and in the patient care areas in providing information to patients and visitors Independently aids Team Members including daily rounding and delivering necessary office supplies
- Operates and utilizes office equipment and software applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Copy / fax Machine, and answering and directing phone calls
- Coordinates as needed with other departments
- Identifies and trouble shoots technology failures and handles computer downtime
- Responds in accordance to the appeal process as it relates to Medicare & Medicaid
- Maintains and updates contact information for the available community resources

Skills & Abilities: * Ability to establish and maintain effective teamwork relationships, excellent listening skills, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish positive rapport with both staff and patients and maintain confidentiality. * Knowledge of patient care practices and medical terminology with proven ability to analyze, conceptualize and problem solve. * Customer service skills such as remaining calm and focusing on the customer in the face of stress. Showing empathy for customer's concerns and unique needs and building rapport with customers from all walks of life. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as organizational and time management skills. * Flexible schedule. * Computer skills related to data collection. * Demonstrates ability to use a keyboard as may be required to perform the essential duties of the job. |
Work Experience |
* Minimum of 6 months previous secretarial experience |
Education |
* High school diploma, GED or successful completion of 12 grades combined with continued enrollment in early college program |
