It is anticipated that an incumbent in this role will work onsite for three (3) or more days a week and will have a dedicated workspace when working onsite. Work location is subject to change based on business needs. Summary of the Job: The Senior QA Automation Engineer role is responsible for testing software applications with a focus on quality and reliability. They are responsible for defining, implementing, and maintaining advanced automation solutions and strategies within their team. The Sr. Engineer will provide technical advice and direction to help team and practice to deliver effective automation solutions. The Sr. Engineer should have extensive working knowledge on Automation, Manual, Cloud (SAAS platform), DevOps testing of web client server, API and web services applications. The senior QA automation engineer should also possess knowledge of developing a Hybrid automation framework, data driven, module pattern and Junit/TestNg to automate pages and to create test automation suites. They will collaborate closely with their agile team and participate in agile ceremonies, contribute to developing acceptance criteria, create test cases and test scripts needed for successful execution of manual and automated functional tests. In addition, the role is responsible for ensuring that quality issues and defects are appropriately identified, documented, tracked, and resolved prior to release. About This Role: o Apply Quality Engineering principles throughout the Agile lifecycle. o Lead and Drive 'Quality / Automation as a Team Mindset' within the team. o Exhibit domain knowledge and product expertise for supported applications. o Decompose stories/business requirements into test cases that clearly articulate test objectives, steps, and expected results. o Estimate, prioritize, plan, coordinate/perform and document results of test execution. o Report, track, and retest defects/bugs prior to release. o Participate in and conduct regular test case peer reviews and automation code reviews. o Lead and collaborate with their delivery team to build automated testing into the CI/CD pipeline. o Analyze and understand the current technology architecture, system interdependencies and application stacks. o Lead by example in exhibiting initiative for self-learning of new technical skills and tools. o Drive consistent improvement and knowledge sharing principles across the team. o Lead automation strategies/solutions and projects within team and across discipline. o Evaluate and propose use of new tools for continuous improvement and driving automation strategies forward. o Experience building, testing, deploying, monitoring, and maintaining effective test automation solutions. o Strong experience in both iOS and Android native application testing using Appium, Android studio, Test Flight & Xcode. o Setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines. o Setting up and maintaining Automation Frameworks. o Mentors' others in test automation, programming, and QA best practices. o Works independently researching, solving, and programming complex automation solutions. o Define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and prepare appropriate test reports. o Ensures the technical quality of project deliverables. The Ideal Candidate for This Role: o Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience and/or certifications. o 5+ years' experience using UI and/or API automation tools - examples: Test Complete, Selenium / Appium, IntelliJ, Cypress, Postman, Swagger, GitLab, Postman, Rest Assured, SOAP UI, Maven and Docker. o 5+ years hands-on experience programming/scripting with JavaScript and/or Java Additional scripting experience a plus: C#, PowerShell, SQL, XML. o 5+ Experience executing all levels of testing (System, Integration, Regression, Performance, Database, and Cross Browser Platform) o 5+ Experience in web, microservices, and database automation. o 5+ years' experience automation with mobile frameworks including Appium and device farms. o 3+ Experience with Git as a version control system, in conjunction with solutions such as Bitbucket, GitHub or GitLab. o Experience setting up and maintaining automation frameworks. o Experience using CI/CD practices using Jenkins and/or Gitlab. o Experience planning, developing, documenting, and maintaining a regression testing strategy. o Working knowledge of Test-Driven and Behavior-Driven development along with STLC (Software Testing Life Cycle). o Strong understanding of Agile QA methodologies, tools, and processes. o Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience communicating complex information. o Knowledge of MS Office: Work, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Access Candidates must possess unrestricted work authorization and not require future sponsorship. Compensation: Compensation range (base pay): $88,067.00-$145,309.00 This role may have a specific starting pay within this range. Final compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level.
