About This Role
The personnel in this position will be responsible for collection of specimens from rabies diagnostic cases, sample preparation, nucleic acid extraction, serum dilutions, virus growth and dilution, cell staining, real-time and traditional PCR, and microscopic reading of slides with calculation of results. Data entry of test submissions, test results, and quality control tracking and report generation. The position requires successfully completing proficiency testing, maintaining laboratory records and equipment, and assisting with daily operations. The role also involves ensuring compliance with departmental, university, state, federal, and AAVLD guidelines while meeting laboratory turnaround times.
