Stellantis is seeking a Quality Management Leader to join the Electrical & Hardware Engineering In-Field Quality organization. The successful candidate will lead a team of Quality Engineers focused on the resolution and prevention of in-field electrical quality issues across the Stellantis North America vehicle fleet. The scope may cover 12V Batteries, Wiring Harness & Distribution, and/or Electronic Modules such as Body Controllers, Radio Frequency ECU, etc. This role is critical in delivering a world-class customer ownership experience by driving rapid improvement in customer warranty issues, driving systemic improvements throughout the Stellantis Engineering organization, and ensuring robust quality processes across current and future vehicle programs. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Quality Engineers supporting electrical and electronic system components, such as body controllers, batteries, wiring, and more.
- Lead the triage efforts for difficult to identify/solve issues related to 12V Battery performance, through monitoring of a vehicle fleet, reviews of network data to identify issues, and ownership of the issues up through implementation with the engineering teams.
- Drive the rapid resolution of in-field quality issues, including high warranty and customer satisfaction concerns related to electrical hardware and software.
- Manage the end-to-end root cause identification and corrective action process, collaborating with cross-functional teams including Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, and After-Sales. This includes engaging directly with ECU suppliers.
- Ensure service actions are prioritized & implemented.
- Lead fault tree analysis, structured problem solving (e.g., 8D, Red X, Shainin), and validation efforts to ensure effectiveness of containment and permanent corrective actions.
- Oversee tracking, reporting, and escalation of field quality metrics, including warranty trends, buybacks, safety investigations, and quality audit performance.
- Develop and enforce quality standards and lessons learned processes to prevent recurrence of systemic issues.
- Partner with program teams to ensure field quality feedback is incorporated into new vehicle development and hardware/software changes.
- Champion the use of data analytics and quality intelligence tools to proactively identify and mitigate emerging electrical system issues.
- Ensure alignment with Stellantis North America and global engineering quality objectives and policies.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related degree field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in automotive engineering or quality roles with a strong focus on electrical/electronic systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including hands-on experience with structured root cause analysis methodologies.
- Strong ability to interpret CAN communication logs with ability to train others.
- Working knowledge of vehicle architectures and electrical system integration.
- Demonstrated ability to work across functions and drive resolution in a matrix organization.
- Outstanding written & verbal communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering or related degree field.
- Reactive Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
- Experience in in-field quality or post-production issue resolution.
- Familiarity with quality tools such as 8D, FMEA, Fault Tree Analysis, Fishbone Analysis, DFSS, and Six Sigma.
- Experience with diagnostic tools, CAN communication, and vehicle data logging systems.
- Experience with vehicle warranty data systems and quality analytics platforms such as Palantir.
- Knowledge of Stellantis systems: Quantic, QFS, CDA tool, JDP, CNs, GIMs, etc.
