Summary

Job Description:

To promote efficient and quality patient care to Baptist Health Paducah (BHP) Heart Failure (HF) clinic patients, by collaborating with the HF nursing and provider staff while performing within the scope of practice. Assist in planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the activities occurring in the department by performing clerical and receptionist's duties and maintaining the physical environment of the area. To contribute to the organization of the care provided to patients in the HF clinic, thus promoting optimal patient outcomes, efficient throughput and increased collaboration with the HF team.

Essential Duties:

  • Performing clerical, receptionist, and supply duties for the nursing unit complementing nursing care: computer system admissions, transfers, and dismissals
  • Perform complete and detailed medication histories during the check-in process.
  • Trained as a monitor tech and provides relief when needed.
  • Coordinates transport of patients to and from diagnostic testing, transports upon admission as appropriate and at discharge
  • Assists team with transition of the patient care area to facilitate efficient and safe throughput.
  • Maintains stock and removed expired patient supplies within the department and specialty carts.
  • Ensures positive customer relations interactions by responding promptly to patient needs and requests for service/assistance
  • Obtain vital signs.
  • Place appropriate monitoring devices.
  • Performs 12 Lead EKG.
  • Phlebotomy and other lab specimen collection.
  • Splinting.
  • Assisting providers and nursing staff with patient procedures

Requirements:

  • High School /GED
  • Completion of the PCT skills training and required competencies post hire
  • Must obtain BLS within three (3) months of hire.
