DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Park Resource Ranger, you will employ exceptional customer service skills to greet park visitors and answer questions regarding park facilities, recreational and program schedules, park history, environmental features, as well as explain park rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. You will be responsible for monitoring park operations to ensure the safety of visitors and proper use of park facilities. This will be accomplished through the use of state park motor vehicles and watercrafts, in addition to utilizing a bicycle or walking the grounds on foot. Strong critical thinking skills are exercised to respond to emergency situations or requests for assistance from employees or visitors. Showcase your organizational abilities through the maintenance of bulletin boards and kiosks to ensure accurate and up to date information is reflected, and that park maps are stocked and readily available at various locations. - This is a seasonal, 37.5 hours/week, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. There is not an option to buy into health care benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2025 until November 2025 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment in approximately March 2026.
- Work schedule will vary based on operational need and will include a 30-minute lunch. This position is required to work weekends, holidays, and all shifts deemed necessary by park management.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of an active motor vehicle license.
- All employees must obtain valid certification in standard first aid and adult, child, and infant CPR approved by the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or equivalent within 60 days of employment.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
- In accordance with Act 153 of 2014 this position is required to complete Child Abuse, Criminal and Federal Criminal History Checks around the time of hire and thereafter every 5 years.
