Canyon Ridge Hospital is currently seeking a compassionate and talented Patient Experience Coordinator to join our team.

Canyon Ridge Hospital has serviced the Greater Inland Empire since 1989. Canyon Ridge is a 157-bed acute, locked psychiatric facility offering services to adolescents ages 13-17, adults and older adults.

We believe in an individualized, patient-focused approach to diagnosis and treatment. For some, anxiety or drug dependence looks different from others with the same diagnoses, and in some cases, behavioral health and substance use disorders occur simultaneously. In these cases of dual diagnosis, we treat the patients in the best way possible given their specific needs.

The Patient Experience Coordinator (PEC) is an essential team member of the Outpatient Services Department and plays a vital role in creating a seamless, positive and patient-centered experience for patients transitioning from the Inpatient level of care to Outpatient Services -or- outside clients admitting directly into Outpatient Services. The PEC is responsible for enhancing the patient journey by fostering open communication with patients, family members, hospital employees and referring partners. They are also responsible for identifying service recovery concerns to improve patient satisfaction and engagement, utilizing patient satisfaction surveys, in-house reporting and online review platforms (Google Reviews). The PEC actively participates in the morning Flash Meeting to ensure timely and effective care coordination; providing direct patient education and support related to their outpatient treatment goals; and working closely with the Director of Outpatient Services on assigned projects, employee engagement and marketing initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in mental health/behavioral science field preferred.
  • Must have experience working directly with an inpatient psychiatric patient population and the chronically mentally il
  • Acceptable oral and written communication skills
  • Legible handwriting
  • Ability to maintain information as highly confidential
  • Telephone etiquette and customer service skills by phone and face-to-face
  • Familiarity with medical and psychological terminology preferred
  • Skills in dealing courteously with the public and other staff within the organization
  • Basic knowledge of human behavior or principles of psychology useful
  • Skills in prioritizing and in managing time
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Use of appropriate social skills, including demonstration and respect for staff and patients
