The Opportunity with McKinstry

The Business Analyst for our Construction Software Implementation plays a critical role in bridging the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams. This role ensures the successful delivery of by capturing business requirements, analyzing processes, and facilitating collaboration. The Analyst enables the organization to optimize workflows, improve efficiency, and achieve business goals through the effective implementation of the new solution(s).

Responsibilities:

  • Requirements Gathering:Collaborate with business units to identify and document functional and non-functional requirements for the ERP system.
  • Process Analysis:Document and analyze current business processes, workflows, and pain points; propose process improvements and map to software functionality.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:Serve as the liaison between business users and technical teams, facilitating clear communication and mutual understanding.
  • Documentation:Create comprehensive documentation, including requirements, process flows, training materials, and system guides.
  • These activities would be expected with extension in role/timeline:
  • Solution Design:Partner with consultants to ensure the system configuration aligns with business requirements and strategic objectives.
  • Testing & Validation:Develop test cases, coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT), and validate that the ERP system meets defined requirements.
  • Change Management:Assist in training, communication, and adoption strategies to ensure a smooth transition to the new ERP system.
  • Risk Mitigation:Identify potential risks or challenges and propose mitigation strategies throughout the implementation lifecycle.

What You Need to be Successful at McKinstry

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field OR 7 years of related experience.
  • Proven experience in business analysis, preferably in complex implementation projects (e.g., ERP, EMR, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of enterprise processes
  • Proficiency in business process modeling tools and techniques (e.g., Visio).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., DevOps, SmartSheet).
  • Experience with and systems implementation lifecycle phases (planning, deployment, post-go-live support).

Preferred:

  • Experience with construction or related industry
  • Certifications such as CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or PMP (Project Management Professional).
  • This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional passionate about leveraging technology to enhance organizational processes and drive strategic value.
  • ProCore, Dynamics 365 software or other complex software experience

The pay range for this position is $80,100 - $134,400 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
