Position Summary:

Reports to the Assistant Director of Capacity Management, Access Services/Hopkins Access Line. Responsible for facilitating, coordinating, and overseeing training programs of the various Hopkins Access Line processes, including but not limited to training of employees of all electronic database systems relevant to the responsibilities of Physician Referral Coordinators. Training programs will include communication skills, JHHS policies and procedures related to the Hopkins Access Line, interpersonal behaviors, and customer service. Assisting with the supervision of the daily activities of the Hopkins Access Line. Coordinate staff schedules. May assume supervisor or Physician Referral Coordinator functions as designated by the manager. Supports organizational goals and directions.

Shift:

Full Time (40 hours), Day Shift: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Every other weekend and holiday. On-call is required.

Education and Work Experience:

An AA Degree in Information Systems, Business, Health Care Management, or a related field, and/or four to five years of related work experience with Hopkins Access Line or hospital administrative support may substitute for a degree.

A minimum of four years' experience as a Physician Referral Coordinator.

Requirements:



  • Work requires comprehensive knowledge of the Hospital and Physician referral protocol, as well as Hospital policies and procedures.
  • Must demonstrate a high level of organization, strong interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication skills. Strong presentation skills and thorough knowledge of computer-based training design and learning context assessment.
  • MS Office, basic office equipment, familiar with computer-based training. Epic, Epic Transfer Center.
  • Strong analytical ability to solve problems and implement and maintain applications using accepted system development procedures.
  • Oversees projects and task-related training and development of employees.
  • Works in a normal, busy office environment with minimal discomfort due to noise, dust, dirt, extreme temperatures, etc. Requires extended periods of standing.
  • Operates with minimal supervision, using professional judgment to develop and implement training strategies that align with organizational goals.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert (SME) and primary point of contact for all training-related questions, issues, and escalations.
  • Empowered to make decisions regarding training priorities, learning methodologies, and staff development needs based on performance trends and business objectives.
  • Takes initiative to identify process improvements, recommend policy updates, and propose new programs that support employee engagement and retention.

Salary Range: Minimum $23.96/hour - Maximum $39.57/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
