Summary of Job Description:

The Manager, Accounting (Restaurant - A/R) is responsible for managing all A/R accounting functions related to domestic and international franchised, licensed, and non-traditional company-owned restaurant locations. This includes the preparation of periodic, annual, and ad hoc financial reports for leadership. This position works closely with the Legal team to ensure compliance with accounting-related terms in agreements and contracts and oversees relationships with Accounts Receivable partners. The Manager, Accounting also supports the balance sheet reconciliation process. Additionally, this position leads the annual licensee/franchise audit and contributes to the preparation of Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) reporting. The Manager, Accounting manages a team of professional and support staff, providing coaching and development to enhance team performance and drive continuous improvement.

You'll get a chance to:

  • Be responsible for the interface of the A/R subsystem, review and record royalties on a timely basis, and handle the billing of licensed stores while working with the International & Domestic Licensing team. Interpret and update contracts in the A/R subsystem as the basis for billing. Propose adjustments (journal entries) and post them to the General Ledger.
  • Manage a team of professional and support staff, providing coaching and development to enhance team performance and drive continuous improvement. Assist Accounting leadership with recruiting and retaining staff.
  • Provide support to the licensee business team, including business analysis, ad hoc reporting, and managing licensee accounts receivable to ensure proper revenue recognition and timely collection. Lead the Licensee/Franchise annual audit.
  • Lead non-traditional company-owned accounts receivable, partner with the Legal team to ensure accounting compliance, and manage accounts receivable to ensure timely collection.
  • Prepare periodic account reconciliations and reporting.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure proper controls are in place.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and special projects to further enhance and simplify processes.
  • Provide customer service to Operations (GMs) in assigned regions, helping them understand P&Ls and responding to questions or issues.

Your background & experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required; major in Business/Accounting preferred with course work in Accounting required; CPA preferred
  • Minimum five years of experience in private/public industry accounting with increasing management responsibility.Nationally recognized public accounting firm experience preferred
  • Obtaining a valid Food Handler's Card within 30 days of employment is a requirement of this position.
  • If hired, completion of annual store training.

Pay Range: M2: $112,500 - $158,000 / Annual

* Within the range, individual pay is determined using various factors, including work location and experience.
