Description Only candidates who are currently local to Phoenix area will be considered. 12 month contract Hybrid in Phoenix, AZ American express is looking for a Data Engineer to join the Cyber Data and Platform Team. The Engineer will report to the Director Cyber Data Active Intelligence and will work in collaboration with data architects, developers, and key stakeholders to design robust scalable data, metric, and reporting solutions. This position will be part of a team responsible to work with other Information Security teams to design, develop, and deliver against new data sources, develop analytics against both streaming and batch-based data sets and delivery reporting capabilities. Core skills required to create scalable (large and complex) data workflows with focus on excellent data quality. Should have 5+ years of relevant experience Should have hands-on experience building data pipelines and ETL processes using Python. Should possess strong SQL Query skill in one of the following databases, MS SQLServer, Postgres Should have experience in processing large, paginated API data and be able to manipulate complex JSON data using python. Should have experience with workflow orchestration tools like Airflow or Dagster or other scheduling tools to execute python code Proven ability to deploy and manage application code in production environments using strong security practices Experience creating scalable data workflows with focus on data quality Experience using typescript/javascript is a plus Experience working with pyspark is a plus Top Skills Details Sql, python, ETL, orchestration tools, API data, JSON, MS SQL Server, Postgres, Analysis, Reporting, Data, reporting tools, sql queries Additional Skills & Qualifications This person will be part of the team that is working in the Qlik Migration & implementation - Qlik is new at Amex and they are trying to enable their customers to do things on their own besides just building reports for them. They are working on building frameworks that will allow their customers to get what is needed on their own. Now that they are stabilizing the migration part they are working on what can be done from a backend standpoint to make the tool more useful to its clients. From a day to day, this person will be working on data curation and data flows. Experience Level Intermediate Level Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00/hr.
