Kalman & Company is seeking to hire a Systems Engineer Level III for an on-site position located in Edgewood, MD.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. The contractor shall provide systems engineering analysis on assigned programs to support branch Product Managers (PMs), the functional support staff, and IPTs to accomplish product goals.

2. The contractor shall conduct systems engineering process analysis and provide input to leadership (i.e., PM and lead test engineer). The contractor shall: i. Identify and define required tests

ii. Monitor test coverage

iii. Evaluate overall quality experienced

iv. Specify the required test data

v. Evaluate the outcome of the testing conducted in each test cycle

vi. Provide feedback and input to program functional IPTs, (interim Progress Reviews (IPRs), milestone decisions, and required program updates

3. The contractor shall serve as the subject matter expert for a JPM Sensors commodity.

4. The contractor shall provide program and strategic planning, including the development of system requirements, sustainment strategies, and project plans.

5. The contractor shall provide risk and engineering analysis for assigned programs.

6. The contractor shall lead the Systems Engineering Working IPT. In addition, the contractor shall coordinate (e.g., prepare agendas, presentations, etc.) and conduct (e.g., conduct roll-call, develop meeting minutes, etc.) IPT meetings.

7. The contractor shall develop and provide comments on high-level documents (e.g., requirements documents, TEMPs, SEPs, CONOPS, SOPs, test plans, MOAs, MOUs, ECPs, CMPs, etc.).

8. The contractor shall translate program requirements into language for a PSpec, SOW, and associated CDRLs for material solution solicitation and update them as necessary.

9. The contractor shall coordinate with Government personnel to determine what funding is available to evaluate and prioritize user needs.

10. The contractor shall prepare briefings for command-level reviews.

11. The contractor shall respond to systems engineering inquiries and taskers.

The salary range for this position is $100K/year-$125K/year and is a general guideline only and is not a guarantee of compensation. Kalman considers factors such as, but not limited to, position responsibilities, education, work experience, knowledge, training, skills, and business considerations when extending an offer.

Minimum Requirements:



  • An Active Secret Clearance is required.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • The contractor shall possess a bachelor's degree in engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Engineering Management, or a related discipline, as well as eight (8) years of general experience and five (5) years of relevant experience.
  • Tradeoff Requirement: The contractor shall possess an associate's degree or professional certificate in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Engineering Management, or a related discipline, as well as ten (10) years of general experience and seven (7) years of relevant experience.
  • The contractor shall be able to use the Microsoft Office Suite of software applications (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point) to create and maintain documents and communications.
