Job Summary

Under the general direction of the California Crop Improvement Association (CCIA) Director of Business Operations, serve as principal full-stack developer form CCIA. Lead software development projects for CCIA in order to process, manage and bill clients. Work includes Microsoft. NET, .NET MVC, .NET Core with SQL server back end. Web sites must be accessible on a variety of operating systems. Provide guidance and recommended techniques for warehousing and accessing critical information. Recommend and implement tools and algorithms to generate reports and visualization dashboards using appropriate best practices, statistical modeling and machine learning techniques. Design and develop software and database systems that integrate with various campus enterprise systems. Use appropriate software design and development methodologies, life-cycle development procedures, integration and unit testing frameworks, and select appropriate software languages. Recommend analyze, design and develop automated solutions at the software level.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience: Demonstrated experience in full-stack software development, particularly with Microsoft .NET, .NET MVC, and .NET Core frameworks.
  • Proven expertise in managing and working with SQL Server databases, including database design, optimization, and maintenance.
  • Ability to design and implement software solutions that are scalable, secure, compatible across platforms, analyze complex requirements, identify solutions, and translate them into effective software and database systems.
  • Proficiency in integration and unit testing frameworks to ensure robust, reliable code.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within the CCIA team and coordinate with CCIA stakeholders and campus systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in developing and deploying web applications that are accessible across multiple operating systems.
  • Experience integrating software solutions with campus enterprise systems or similar multi-system environments.
  • Hands-on experience with developing tools, algorithms, and techniques for reporting, data analysis, and dashboard visualizations.
  • Proven experience in managing server and system resources for large-scale applications, data warehousing, and web systems.
  • Background in data warehousing and information management to support efficient data storage and retrieval.
  • Proficient in Microsoft .NET technologies (including .NET MVC and .NET Core) and SQL Server.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical modeling, machine learning, and best practices in data analysis.
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies, life-cycle management, and version control systems.
  • Knowledge of server management and resource allocation to support complex digital infrastructures.
  • Strong skills in software design, integration, and development life-cycle procedures.
  • Proficiency in designing and developing data visualization dashboards for meaningful data presentation.
  • Capable of identifying opportunities for process automation and recommending solutions to enhance efficiency.
  • Ability to evaluate and implement new tools and algorithms to improve software functionality and data management.

Department Overview

The purpose of the California Crop Improvement Association (CCIA) is to provide seed certification service, a voluntary quality assurance program for the maintenance and increase of agronomic and vegetable crop seed. CCIA is a non-profit corporation, managed by the Director of Business Operations and the Director of Seed Certification Operations, who report to an elected & representational Board of Directors on matters of policy and finance. The CCIA is the official seed certifying agency in California as recognized by California Seed Law. Additionally, the CCIA is the designated authority for the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) international seed certification scheme.

Department Specific Job Scope

Under the leadership of the CCIA Director of Business Operations, the Full-Stack Developer will play a critical role in supporting CCIA's mission by leading software development initiatives that enhance client processing, data management, and operational efficiency. This position involves full-stack development, database management, and system integration to ensure the CCIA's digital infrastructure remains robust, scalable, and accessible across platforms. This position is crucial to achieving the CCIA's objectives in data management, client service, and operational excellence. As a key team member, this position will contribute significantly to the advancement and reliability of CCIA's digital platforms and systems.
