HX5 is currently seeking a qualified Multi-Disciplinary Engineer in support of the MDA IRES program at Vandenberg Space Force Base in Lompoc, CA. The Systems Administrator supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deploy, configure, and support customer laptop and desktop computer systems.
  • Provide on-site and remote troubleshooting support for customer equipment and fix issues as required.
  • Provide on-site customer support for mission and/or test events.
  • Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot mobile devices (Phones, tablets and others).
  • Provide technical support for enterprise networking and infrastructure projects.
  • Resolve daily organizational assigned tasks.
  • Track all work using the Remedy ticketing system.
  • Provide enterprise printer support.
  • Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot software applications.
  • Provide COMSEC support to deployed COMSEC equipment and function as the local COMSEC Hand-Receipt Holder,
    re-keying of equipment and general support.
  • Provide IPTV and VTC (Video Teleconferencing) support as required.
  • Provided network, server and infrastructure support.
  • Provide remote support to other team members within the branch.
  • Provide rotation of on-call support for after-hours and weekend situations
  • Travel to and support remote locations during MDA exercises, occasionally for extended durations (30-90 days).
  • Provide VOIP support as needed by the mission and site requirements
  • Perform as the Trusted Agent for the site.
  • Provide escort services for contractors and event visitors, as required by the site director.

Salary Information: This position is expected to pay $97,000 - $122,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certificationsthat are directly related to the position.

Education andExperience:

  • Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience:
    • HS Diploma (or GED) and ten (10) years of general experience
    • Associate's degree and eight (8) years of general experience
    • Bachelor's degree and six (6) years of general experience
    • Master's degree and four (4) years of general experience
  • Must have at least 6 years of direct experience in providing IT solutions
  • Experience working in a customer-facing support role
  • DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II Certification (CompTIA Security+ CE Certification or higher)
  • Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance

Desired Requirements:

  • ITILv3 Foundations certification
  • CompTIA Network+ certification
  • Cisco CCNA certification
  • CISSP certification
  • Microsoft certification
  • Active Top Secret Clearance

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week and offers a flexible work schedule Monday through Friday during core business hours. It will require off-hours and weekend on-site support during mission/test events. Travel required (approximately 10% of the average year). Tele-work is available for brief periods, but on-site support is required for all mission and test events.

Other Position Requirements:

  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance by date of hire.
  • Must be able to travel, including air travel.
  • Must have a valid Drivers License.
