What We're Looking For:

As the Sr. Manager of DevOps, you will lead a team responsible for building, optimizing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines. Your mission will be to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure systems that power our critical energy software platforms.

You'll collaborate closely with engineering teams to deliver tools and frameworks that enhance developer productivity, reduce friction in deployment processes, and enable high system reliability. You'll bring strong technical expertise, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cloud Infrastructure Management: Oversee and support the implementation of cloud environments (AWS and Azure), ensuring high availability, security, and cost-efficiency.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Guide the design and maintenance of automated infrastructure using Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Ownership: Lead the build and evolution of CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins) to accelerate development and delivery cycles.
  • Container & Orchestration Tools: Manage containerized deployments using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS/AKS), promoting best practices in scalability and maintainability.
  • Monitoring & Observability: Implement and maintain robust monitoring, logging, and alerting systems with tools like Grafana, Datadog, and CloudWatch.
  • Security & Compliance: Enforce cloud security policies and practices aligned with NIST and SOC 2 standards, working in close coordination with internal compliance teams.
  • Cloud Cost Optimization: Analyze infrastructure usage and identify cost-saving opportunities across platforms and services.
  • Team Leadership & Mentoring: Manage a small team of DevOps engineers, providing technical guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Automation & Scripting: Drive automation initiatives using Python, PowerShell, and Bash to improve operational efficiency.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, QA, and product teams to align DevOps capabilities with product development needs.
  • Incident Management: Lead incident response efforts and implement processes for continuous improvement in system reliability and uptime.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Education: B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (M.S. a plus).
  • Experience: 8+ years in software engineering or DevOps roles with 2-4 years in a technical team leadership or management position.
  • Cloud Expertise: Strong working knowledge of AWS and/or Azure cloud infrastructure; AWS Solutions Architect certification a plus.
  • Containers & Kubernetes: Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, EKS/AKS in production environments.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Proficiency in Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation; GitOps experience preferred.
  • CI/CD & Automation: Deep understanding of modern CI/CD tools and automation strategies.
  • Monitoring Tools: Familiar with Grafana, Datadog, Telegraf, or equivalent monitoring tools.
  • Security & Compliance: Experience working within regulatory frameworks (SOC 2, NIST, etc.) and implementing best-practice cloud security controls.
  • Scripting & Tooling: Advanced scripting in Python, PowerShell, Bash; experience with frameworks (e.g., AWS Lambda) is a plus.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Mindset: Growth-oriented leader with a passion for team development, automation, and reliability.
Salary Range$155,040.00 - $232,560.00
