Position Summary: The Manager, Financial Reporting & Controls provides professional/technical expertise to the external financial reporting function for PCA. The Manager aides the Company's financial reporting process and works directly with leadership of the Corporate Accounting team on various recurring and ad hoc matters. The Manager, Financial Reporting & Controls holds a pivotal role within the Company's Accounting and Financial Reporting department by supporting the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting & Controls and Senior Director, Financial Reporting & Controls in the preparation of financial reports. The Manager, Financial Reporting & Controls is an individual contributor with technical accounting and financial reporting expertise, high attention to detail, and strong communication skills. Principle Accountabilities:
- Assist with the timely and accurate preparation of the financial reports on Form 10-K and 10-Q (SEC filings) including Financial Statements and Footnotes, Managements' Discussion and Analysis and other sections, as required. Reports must comply with all applicable SEC rules and regulations.
- Support the preparation and reporting of defined benefit and defined contribution plan audited financial statements in compliance with GAAP and the Department of Labor rules and regulations for reporting and disclosure under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA).
- Assist the Legal department with the preparation of the annual proxy statement and environmental regulatory reporting.
- Monitor and assist with researching new pronouncements published by the FASB and SEC to determine company-wide accounting and disclosure implications, and, where applicable, assist with implementing processes and procedures for compliance with new requirements.
- Provide assistance to internal team members by addressing and/or researching accounting or disclosure-related questions.
- Liaise with the Internal Audit team on the design and implementation of internal controls to help promote effective internal controls over financial reporting. Update control descriptions in Company's central repositories as required.
- Collaborate with management team members to review and update Company policies.
- Maintain technical/professional competency to provide consultation to the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting & Controls; Senior Director, Financial Reporting & Controls; and the Vice President, Controller and Treasurer on key projects and company initiatives.
- Assist with acquisition due diligence and valuation issues of business(es) acquired.
- Assist with debt financings, including analyses of proposals and proper accounting of debt transactions.
- Know and follow policies and procedures of the Company, share information that would benefit other members of the team and find ways to improve the delivery of service to our customers.

Decision Making: The Manager, Financial Reporting & Controls is part of the management team and is expected to deliver results under tight deadlines, maintain a "big-picture" focus while ensuring short-term goals are accomplished. Guidance is limited to clarification of objectives. This position has decision-making authority to ensure objectives of position are met. Interactions: The Manager, Financial Reporting & Controls reports to the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting & Controls within a collaborative team environment. This position is expected to interact with co-workers from all areas of the company, including senior management, department heads, and management teams of our manufacturing facilities, to develop solid working relationships and to increase departmental interactions and overall communication efforts. Position Requirements:
- Education equivalent to a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required. Master's degree in finance or accounting preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred.
- Four (4) to six (6) years' experience in an accounting or related function; experience with a major public accounting firm with a concentration on SEC reporting clients preferred.
- Solid understanding and working knowledge of standard financial/accounting procedures, GAAP concepts and principles, accounting procedures, and internal controls required.
- Solid analytical and mathematical skills.
- Working knowledge of general ledger financial systems.
- Must be able to analyze a multitude of issues and effectively communicate findings.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle numerous details, deadlines, and requests.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple projects and/or requests simultaneously.
- Strong listening, evaluating, and organizational skills.
- Strong working knowledge of computer systems including experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and accounting software required.
- Must be able to travel as necessary and possess a valid U.S. driver's license.
- Previous work experience as a member of a team, or a strong understanding of the importance of open communication and information sharing between team members.
