Job Description

This position will be responsible for day-to-day operation of an aerospace machining manufacturing department, responsible for supervising employees, manpower scheduling, ensuring proper material and tooling is supplied to employees, training, evaluating performance, monitoring processing of parts, maintaining proper documentation, reporting, Continuous improvement initiatives, and machine troubleshooting.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and control area in accordance with guidelines established by production schedules and the Operations Manager. Maintain total awareness of policies, regulations, and procedures, and ensure compliance by all assigned employees.
  • Strive to reduce operating inefficiencies, absenteeism, rework time, and downtime within own sphere of responsibilities.
  • Develop, train, and motivate employees to acquire maximum efficiency, productivity, cooperation, and morale.
  • Ensure all employees, equipment, materials, and areas of operation conform to all appropriate health and safety regulations and proper training is provided to employees for use of hazardous/dangerous materials and waste management.
  • Maintain full documentation for all actions taken.
  • Adhere to several operational metrics including production output, cost control, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure assigned area of responsibility is maintained with good housekeeping practices.
  • Conduct performance reviews on a timely basis and keeping within division guidelines.
  • Interviews applicants for open positions and provides training to new employees.
  • Schedule vacations for employees in accordance with individual requests, division policy, local labor agreements, and production schedules.
  • Coordinate status of projects and related department activities with supervisory personnel of the next and/or prior shift.

Qualifications

  • 2-5+ years of supervisory experience, preferably in a machine shop.
  • Two-year degree preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to direct and motivate others.
  • Ability to multi-task, set priorities, and pay attention to details.
  • Ability to problem-solve and be results-oriented.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $90,000 to $120,000 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter . Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.
This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)). To be qualified to work in this facility, a successful applicant must be a U.S. Person, as defined in those regulations, and able to supply evidence of that qualification prior to starting work or be authorized to receive controlled information under a specific license or permission from the relevant government agency.
